How To make Braised Chicken Drumsticks
8 Chicken fryer drumsticks
Cornstarch for dredging 3 c Oil for deep-frying
1 c Dried chestnuts
1 Five-spice bouquet (OR
1 tb Five-spice powder)
4 c Cold water
1/2 c Dark soy sauce
1/2 c Rock sugar
1/2 c Medium sherry
1/2 ts Salt
Preparation: At least 12 hours before cooking this dish, rinse several times then soak dried chestnuts. After soaking, remove pieces of skin wedged in nutmeat. Deep-frying: In wok or suitable pan, slowly heat deep-frying oil; oil is ready when bubbles quickly form around chopstick held vertically in oil. Meanwhile, dredge drumsticks in cornstarch; shake off excess starch. Deep- fry drumsticks 2 at a time until brown, about 5 minutes. Remove from oil; drain. Red-cooking: Pour water in sandy pot or comparable casserole dish; add 5- spice bouquet, soy sauce, sherry & salt (5-spice powder can be substituted, though the final flavor will be less distinctive). Slowly bring to boil, reduce heat, cover pot & simmer 15 minutes. Remove cover; discard bouquet; add salt & rock sugar; dissolve rock sugar. You can stop here until near serving time. About 30 minutes before serving time, add drumsticks & soaked chestnuts to hot red-cooked sauce. Simmer in covered pot for 15 minutes; remove cover; simmer for another 15 minutes. Sauce should have reduced by about 1/3, and become bright & thick. To serve, prop drumsticks up around sides of sandy pot; spear chestnuts with sate sticks or long toothpicks.

1 Tbsp (9 g) all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp seasoned salt
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder

1 lb ( 454g ) tomatoes
1/4 cup (60 ml) water
1 Tbsp (9 g) chicken bouillon powder
1/2 tsp Mexican oregano
1 clove garlic
1 lb ( 454g ) potatoes
1/2 small onion (sliced)
1/3 cup ( 77 ml ) cooking oil
salt and pepper to taste
1 to 2 dried bay leaves

How to make asian homestyle honey soy chicken drumsticks. 8-10 pieces of chicken drumsticks, 2Tbs of cooking oil, 1 tbs of shao shing wine, 1 tbs of black vinegar, 1/3 cup of soy (use half to marinate the chicken drumsticks and add the remaining half later), 3-4 tbs of honey, 1 cup of water, 1 tsp of seasame oil, garnish with cilantro/green onion/sweet pepper. Option use 1 tsp of cornstarch mixed with 2 oz of water to thicken the sauce. Great recipe to serve with white rice. Enjoy.

How To Make Red Wine Braised Chicken Drumsticks
8 chicken drumsticks
pinch salt/cracked pepper
1/2 tsp sweet paprika
1 tbsp olive oil
plain flour for dredging
2 tbsp olive oil
1 cup red wine
3 cups chicken stock
3 crushed garlic cloves
1/2 tsp black pepper
3-4 bay leaves
1 tsp dried thyme
pinch salt
1 onion, coarsely chopped
1 carrot, coarsely chopped
Garnish with fresh parsley or mint. Serve on its own, or with roast vegetables or mash.
