How To make Birds Nest Cake

3 c Flour
1 ts Soda
2 c Sugar
1 ts Cinamon
1/2 ts Salt
1 1/4 c Cooking oil
1 ts Vanilla extract
1 c Crushed pineapple
3 Eggs; slightly beaten
1/4 c Applesauce
2 c Bananas; thinly sliced
1 c Nuts; chopped (opt)
Mix flour, soda, sugar, cinnamon and salt into large mixing bowl. Make a well in center. Pour remaining ingredients into well. Mix with a spoon until well combined. Pour into greased and floured bundt pan. Bake in preheated 350~ oven for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until cake tests done. Sprinkle with confectioners sugar while still warm if desired. :

Bird’s nest aka bird’s saliva
Bird’s nest, aka bird’s saliva, is a luxury traditional Chinese food. The nests are rich in nutrients such as protein, calcium, iron, potassium, and magnesium, and are traditionally believed to provide health benefits. But these functions are actually controversial.
Three times a year, swiftlets build nests out of their sticky saliva on cave walls and cliff sides. After they abandoned their old nests, farmers will harvest them to sell.
To cook bird’s nest:
- Soak bird’s nest in cold water for 6 hours until softened.
- Rinse and drain.
- Get rid of tiny bird feathers with tweezers.
- Add cold water in the inner pot until cover the nest.
- Use a double boiler to brew the nest soup for 30 minutes.
- Add rock candies and goji berries while it’s still hot.
