JUICY Middle Eastern Chicken Steak - Grilled Chicken with Lemon, Garlic and Yogurt Marinade
In this video, we show you a delicious Middle Eastern style grilled chicken steak recipe, which is super juicy and packed full of flavour. The marinade is very flavourful with garlic, lemon and yogurt, and the chicken is very tender & moist. This is very similar to our shish tawouk recipe, but with a few extra additions. You can serve this Middle Eastern grilled chicken steak with salad, chips, pita, or even our vermicelli rice.
Middle Eastern chicken steak recipe:
3 tbs olive oil
6 grated garlic cloves
juice of 1 lemon
1 small grated onion
1 tbs red pepper paste (or use tomato puree instead)
2 tbs yogurt
salt to taste
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp red pepper paste
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp oregano
2 x chicken fillets (cut thinly into half lengthways)
*marinate for at least 2-4 hours, or overnight for best results
The Chicken (tawouk or tavuk) steak is best cooked on a the BBQ, but you can also cook it on the grill pan then add some coal in a little oil and cover with foil for a couple minutes just before serving to replicate the authentic smokey charcoal flavour.
This chicken kebab Sheesh steak marinade for grilling is very easy to prepare and packed full of flavour. The yogurt and olive oil help to keep the chicken tender and juicy. The Lemon and Garlic, as well as the spices give the most wonderful flavour profile to this chicken marinade.

Grilled Chicken Indian Style | Protein Rich | Healthy Recipe | Balcal Nutrefy
Chicken who doesn’t love it. It is the first option of non-vegetarian eaters to opt for a chicken based recipe whenever they would want to increase their protein intake. Chicken can be consumed in various ways such as steamed, grilled, stir fry, boiled, gravy, etc. Here we are with another healthy recipe of chicken that is low in fat & packed with protein in a delicious juicy yogurt-based margination with Indian herbs.
Ingredients:
- Chicken Breast Boneless & Skinless – 2 Halves
- Cumin Seeds – ½ Teaspoon
- Coriander Seeds – ½ Teaspoon
- Fennel Seeds – ⅓ Teaspoon
- Whole Red Chilli – 3
- Salt – ½ Teaspoon
- Red Chili Powder – 1 Teaspoon
- Turmeric Powder – ½ Teaspoon
- Garam Masala Powder – ½ Teaspoon
- Mango Powder – ½ Teaspoon
- Black Pepper Powder – ½ Teaspoon
- Cumin Powder – ½ Teaspoon
- Ginger garlic paste – 1 Teaspoon
- Yogurt / Curd – 1 Cup
- Oil – For Brushing
Method:
1. Start with making marinate for chicken.
2. Roast cumin, coriander seeds, fennel seeds, and whole red chili on low heat until fragrant.
3. To make a fine powder, grind the ingredients together in a blender.
4. In a bowl, add this masala further, add salt, red chili powder, turmeric, garam masala, mango powder, black pepper, cumin powder, curd, and ginger garlic paste & mix it thoroughly.
5. Add the chicken to the mixture and coat it evenly on both sides.
Marinate for an hour and store the marinated bowl in the refrigerator.
6. Start your grill (can also use Pan) and cover it until the temperature hits 500 degrees.
Brush the grill with oil. Before putting the chicken on the hot grill, shake off excess marinade.
7. Cook with the grill lid closed, but keep an eye out for excessive smoke, which is a solid sign that your chicken is charring (burning)
8. Turn the chicken as needed to avoid burning, and leave the grill lid on to ensure the chicken cooks thoroughly.
9. It takes around 30 – 35 minutes for the chicken to cook, and then it’s ready to serve.

There are several ways you can make chicken curry with each region having its own special way of making it. Today I will show you how to make a Punjabi chicken curry. This chicken curry is extremely delicious as ghee is used but you can even use butter if you do not have ghee on hand.
Ingredients required for making Punjabi chicken recipe -
For marination
* 1.1kg/2.4 lb boneless skinless chicken thighs. You can even use chicken with bones.
* 1/4 th cup plain unflavored yogurt
* 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
* 1/4 th teaspoon kashmiri red chilli powder. You can even use cayenne pepper or paprika
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1/2 teaspoon coarsely crushed black pepper.
For the gravy -
* 10 cloves / 35 gm/ 1.2 oz garlic
* 2 & 1/2 inch length/ 32 gm/ 1.1 oz ginger
* 1 very large onion or 4 medium onions
* 1 large tomato
* 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
* 2 heaped teaspoon Kashmiri red chilli powder. Please adjust proportion according to preference. You can even use paprika if you want to avoid the heat.
* 1 tablespoon heaped ground coriander (dhania powder)
* 1/2 teaspoon kasoori methi (dried fenugreek leaves). Adding a lot of fenugreek leaves may make your curry bitter.
* 1 heaped teaspoon garam masala powder.If you want to make your own garam masala powder then please follow this recipe -
* 2 tablespoons mustard oil or any oil of your preference. If using mustard oil please heat it up first on high heat till it starts smoking. Then lower the heat to low and bring down the temperature of the oil a little bit before adding your whole spices.
* 2 tablespoons ghee (Add 1 tablespoon with oil and another tablespoon along with ground coriander. If you want to make your own homemade ghee then please follow this recipe -
* 1 large dried bay leaf
* 7 green cardamoms (chat elaichii)
* 7 cloves (lavang)
* 2 inch length cinnamon stick (dalchini)
* 1/2 teaspoon whole cumin seeds (jeera)
* 2 whole green chillies (optional)
* coriander leaves a handful or leave it out if you do not like it.
* 1 teaspoon salt or as per taste
Serve this with rice/roti/paratha/naan.

Garlic Grilled chicken, Greek Style!
Simple to make, garlic grilled chicken recipe. This one is Greek style with lemon, herbs and garlic served with a yogurt dip. If you have time, marinade it overnight, otherwise 2 hours is fine. A perfect recipe for entertaining whether inside or outside for a tasty BBQ. If inside, make sure you heat up that griddle pan so you get plenty of smoky char flavour. For the dip, you can leave out the cayenne pepper if you don’t like spicy but it’s awesome spicy! Use a good quality full fat Greek natural yogurt and fresh dill for that beautiful flavour. Serve it with potato wedges and a Greek salad, see my recipes. Pita bread also goes well. Enjoy my Garlic Grilled chicken Greek Style!

How To Make Restaurant Style Chicken Tikka Masala At Home - Chicken Tikka At Home
If you are craving for a restaurant style chicken tikka masala then this recipe is the right choice for you. Today I will show you step by step how to make the perfect chicken tikka at your own home kitchen.

Ingredients Required For Making Chicken Tikka Masala -
* Boneless skinless chicken thighs cut into 1 & 1/2 inch pieces - 450 gm/16 oz. You can even use chicken breast .
* Garlic - 40 gm/1.4 oz / 12 to 13 cloves
* Ginger - 40 gm/1.4 oz/ 2 inch length
Make a paste of ginger and garlic in your blender with 3 to 4 tablespoons of water. You can even grate them using the fine holes of your grater if you do not have a blender.
*For marinating chicken-
* Take 1 tablespoon from the freshly made ginger garlic paste
* Kashmiri red chili powder - 2 teaspoons heaped . You can even use paprika or 1 teaspoon of chili powder
* Turmeric Powder - 1/4th teaspoon
* Ground Coriander (dhania powder) - 1 teaspoon
* Garam masala powder - 1/2 a teaspoon
* Lemon/lime juice - 2 tablespoons
* Plain unflavored Greek yogurt - 3 tablespoons. You can even use plain unflavored yogurt(curd) but in that case put the measured quantity in a tea strainer. Rest the strainer on a bowl and keep it in the fridge for an hour. The excess liquid will drain off and you will get this thick consistency .
* salt - 1 teaspoon or as desired.
* sugar - 1/4 th teaspoon
Marinate the chicken in the fridge for a minimum of 2 hours, overnight will be better. Take it out from the refrigerator about an hour before you plan to cook. Discard the marinade and fry only the chicken.
For the tikka masala gravy -
* Onion - 2 large / 375 gm/13 oz (chopped)
* Rest of the ginger garlic paste
* Cumin seeds(jeera) - 1/2 teaspoon
* Ground coriander (dhania powder) - 1 & 1/2 teaspoon
* Ground Cumin (jeera powder) - 1/2 teaspoon
* Kashmiri red chili powder - 1 tablespoon . You can even use a teaspoon of red chili powder or paprika. Please note that if using paprika the color of the gravy maybe bit different than the one shown in the video.
* Canned crushed tomatoes - 3/4 th cup. You can even use tomato puree. You can also use 3 large fresh tomatoes, pureed in your blender but in that case use a combination of fresh tomatoes and 1/4th of a cup of tomato puree to get that color.
* Salt - as per taste (add less salt if your tomato puree has added salt in it)
* Sugar - 2 teaspoons. Add more if you think gravy is tasting sour. You can even add honey.
* Kasuri Methi (dried fenugreek leaves) - 1 teaspoon level. You will get this at any Indian grocery store or online.
* Garam masala powder - 1 teaspoon . If you are interested in making garam masala at home then click the link for my recipe -
* Water - 1/2 cup
* Heavy cream - 1 cup. For me gravy was tasting sour so added one whole cup. Please add half a cup of cream first, taste the gravy and if you feel the gravy is sour add half a cup more of cream. If you are not using fresh cream then add it at the end just before removing from heat as the cream may curdle due to high heat.
* Coriander leaves (cilantro) - 2 tablespoons chopped (optional)
* oil - 3 tbsp for frying chicken, 2 tbsps for gravy
* butter - 2 tbsp
Oven Method - Spread out marinated chicken in a single layer on a baking sheet lined by parchment paper or aluminum foil sprayed by cooking oil. Cook in a 400 degrees F / 200 C ,preheated oven for 20 minutes or until the internal temperature of chicken registers as 160 degrees F with a thermometer.
Serve this with rice or naan.
