Trying a recipe by Renee’s Kitchen Adventures for an appetizer for a New Orleans Cooking as a First Language Class! Yummy!!
Muffaletta or Stuffed Picnic Loaf Video Recipe cheekyricho
Video Cooking Demonstration and recipe for Stuffed Picnic Loaf or Muffaletta. Great for the meat lovers and the vege smugglers. We think our family favourite may just become your favourite too. It's economical, delicious, easy as chutney and all in under an hour. We hope you enjoy it.
INGREDIENTS:
One loaf of Crusty Bread and layers of the fillings of your choice, here we used salami, semi dried tomatoes, gherkins, roast beef, cooked slices of kumera, cheese, cheekyricho mango chutney, bacon, spring onions, parsley, cheekyricho tomato paste and mushrooms. Dont let this idea limit your choices, you could use chicken, pork, fish, avocado,spinach, egg, feta, pate, eggplant, smoked salmon, omelette and mashed potato the possibilities are endless.

The BEST Muffuletta Sandwich Ever #NewOrleansstyle
This not so typical ham and cheese sandwich is worth trying! The dressing and the bread make this sandwich different from all the rest!!
Ciabatta bread
ham
turkey
hard salami
provolone cheese
green olives
lots of garlic
dried oregano
fresh parsley
EVOO
to make the dressing:
chop up olives, garlic and fresh parsley
add oregano
mix together in a bowl/let marinate for 2-4 hrs.
spread over bread, eat or heat and serve

Bocadillo o sándwich muffuletta. Este bocadillo es originario de Nueva Orleans y se prepara con el pan muffuletta. Lleva encurtidos, salami, mortadela y queso. Con uno de estos bocadillo salen 4 raciones muy completas, quizá hasta más. Puedes adaptarlo a tu gusto con lo que más te guste ;).
La receta la he sacado del libro Los mejores bocadillos del mundo (varios autores). Parece ser que se ha agotado en amazon.
Receta del pan muffuleta en este vídeo (es muy fácil y apenas requiere amasado)
Ingredientes:
1 pan muffaletta
200 g de salami
200 g de mortadela de Bolonia
200 g de queso provolone
400 g de encurtidos variados (zanahoria, pimiento,
pepinillos, coliflor, cebolletas, alcaparras)
200 g de aceitunas rellenas
12 anchoas
Para el aliño: aceite de oliva, vinagre, sal, orégano, perejil

10 poblano peppers
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 jalapeno pepper chopped
1 medium onion chopped
4 cloves garlic chopped
1 pound fresh tomatoes chopped (or use canned)
1 teaspoon Mexican oregano
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon ancho powder or use chili powder
½ teaspoon cumin
Salt and pepper to taste
4 large eggs
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese or use Monterey Jack, pepper jack, or a combination
FOR GARNISH: spicy chili flakes and fresh herbs

Muffaleta Dip | Mardi Gras Party | Fat Tuesday | Copycat Recipe
Today I’m sharing a copycat recipe for Aldi’s Muffaletta Dip. The Muffaletta sandwich originated in New Orleans and is a pressed sandwich filled with Italian meats and cheeses and a spicy olive salad. This creamy dip just features the olive salad, but you could add some diced salami, cappicola or mortadella, and provolone cheese, serve this with some sesame seed bread, and you’d have the entire sandwich in a dip! Happy Mardi Gras!
Muffaletta Dip
1 carrot, peeled & finely diced
¼ green bell pepper, finely diced
3-4 cauliflower florets, finely diced
1-5.75 oz. jar Spanish olives, chopped
2 Tbsp. olive oil
1 Tbsp. white vinegar
¼ tsp. garlic powder
8 oz. Neufchatel cheese, room temperature (you can substitute cream cheese)
½ tsp. Creole seasoning
pinch of cayenne pepper, optional
In a small bowl, mix together the diced vegetables with the olive oil, vinegar, and garlic powder. In a larger bowl, mix the softened cream cheese with half of the olive salad and the Creole seasoning. You can start with less seasoning if you’re worried about it being too spicy. If you’d like the dip to be spicier, add a pinch of cayenne pepper. Mix everything together and refrigerate for at least an hour so the flavors marry together. Serve with crackers and enjoy!
