✤ 치킨염지
- 닭가슴살 290g(2덩이)
- 다진마늘 1스푼
- 오렌지즙 2스푼
- 소금 3g(1티스푼/납작하게)
- 후추가루 0.5티스푼
✤ 튀김 반죽
- 쌀가루 50g(5스푼)
- 옥수수전분가루 25g(2.5스푼)
- 밀가루 25g (2.5스푼)
- 물 90ml
✤ 소스
- 생강가루 0.5티스푼(생략가능)
- 고운 고추가루 1티스푼
- 갈색 설탕 50g(흰설탕 가능)
- 꿀 1스푼(물엿 가능)
- 오렌지즙 50ml(8스푼)
- 진간장2스푼
- 식초 4스푼

Easy Char Siew Chicken Roast | Chinese style red honey bbq chicken
OPEN for ingredients! Today we’re making Char Siu chicken. This is a Chinese style, oven roasted bbq chicken marinated to savoury, sweet, sticky perfection. Also super quick and easy to prepare, it's one of my all time favourite chicken recipes.
This is ultra versatile, personally I love eating this with chicken rice (my one pan chicken rice recipe here: but you can also top noodles with this.
I mentioned chicken leg in the video, this is the entire chicken thigh and drumstick portion, bone removed. I realise this is not that easy to find for most, so use chicken thighs as per ingredients list below. For bone-in chicken thighs, double the time in the oven to 30 to 40 minutes. Check that the internal temperature at the thickest part of the chicken has hit 74 deg celcius or 165 deg fahrenheit to ensure it’s cooked through. Or just poke a fork through thick part and juices run clear and blood-less :)

- 300 grams Boneless Chicken Thigh (fatty ones are best)
- Marinade
- 1 tbsp Honey
- 1 tbsp Light Soy Sauce
- 1 tbsp Oyster Sauce
- 1 tbsp Dark Soy Sauce or Kicap Manis
- 2 tbsps Brown Sugar
- 1 tbsp Ginger-Garlic Paste (2 garlic cloves + 1 inch Ginger, pureed or grated)
- 1 tsp Chinese Five Spice Powder
- Pinch of white pepper
- 1 tsp red food colouring (optional)

EDIT: Yes, I am aware traditionally Char Siu is made with pork. This recipe is for some of us who do not eat pork (me)/prefer chicken. You can use these same ingredients for pork, though be aware that roasting time in the oven might differ.

Fuzzy's Orange Teriyaki Glazed Chicken Breast
The following recipe is a demonstration on how to prepare my Orange Teriyaki Glazed Chicken Breast on a Big Green Egg.
Fair Warning: The last step on this video is 100 percent optional. If you serve the meat before that point...it will still be some of the most tender, juicy chicken you've ever had.

Ingredients:
3 Chicken Breasts
Honey
1 Bottle of Low Sodium Teriyaki Sauce
Poultry Rub
Tabasco Wood Chips
Teriyaki Glaze (optional)
1/3 Cup Low Sodium Teriyaki Sauce
1/3 Cup Orange Juice
1/2 Table Spoon of minced garlic
1/4 Cup of Soy Sauce
1/4 Cup of Honey
1/2 Cup of Corn Starch
1/2 Cup of Water
1 Tablespoon of Olive Oil
Pairs With: These should be juicy enough on their own...but make extra Teriyaki Glaze if you must.
Suggested Side(s):
Steam Fresh Green Beans
Brown RIce (cooked in Chicken Stock)
Method Of Cooking:
Big Green Egg (other smoker or grill) directly on your cast iron grate over your fire ring. Medium amount of Natural Lump Charcoal at 400-450 degrees for 3-4 minutes per side (cook times will vary based on Egg temperature).
Total Cook/Prep Time: 26 hours, 10 minutes of prep, 24 hours of marinating, 2 hours to dry rub, 6-8 minutes for cooking (if you want to cut the marinating time... you could have this prepped and grilled within two hours...or two episodes of the Walking Dead)
Feeds: 3 lumberjacks, 3 growing boys, or 6 people.
Double or Triple the recipe for a Duggar sized family!
Leftovers? Refrigerate chicken and reheat in the microwave for 2:15. To your amazement it WILL stay moist!
