Grated Rind Of 1 Lemon 6 Tbsp Butter

OLD SCHOOL LEMON CHESS PIE
This is a pie i grew up eating in the mall cafeterias(Furrs,Piccadilly,Wyatt's and Lubys)
I actually think this is an underrated and under appreciated pie
Enjoy the recipe
1 9in deep dish pie crust(slightly par baked)
5 large eggs
2 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon lemon zest
1 tablespoon orange zest
2 cups sugar
½ cup softened unsalted butter
2 tablespoons self rising flour
2 teaspoons cornmeal
Directions
Pre-heat oven to 325˚F.
In a medium bowl, whisk eggs until combined. Whisk in water and zests.
In a large bowl, combine sugar, butter, flour and cornmeal. Beat at low speed with an electric mixer until smooth. Add egg mixture, beating well to combine.
Pour mixture into unbaked pie shell. Bake for 45 minutes, or until center is set. Cool for 1 hour. Cut into wedges to serve.

Lemon Buttermilk Chess Pie - Quick & Easy
Hey y'all! I wasn't going to do a video Easter weekend but in celebration of y'all getting me to 40k subscribers, I decided to give y'all a new video! Not only is this pie DEEEElicious, it's soooo easy to prepare. I hope this will be a recipe that you'll add to your recipe box????
Here's what you'll need:
1 unbaked 9in pie shell
1 1/2 c sugar
1tbsp yellow cornmeal
1tbsp AP flour
1/4tsp salt
4large room temp eggs
1/3c melted & cooled butter
1/3c fresh lemon juice + 1tbsp lemon zest
1/2c room temp buttermilk
1tsp vanilla extract
1tbsp confectioners sugar for topping
Whipped cream for garnish (optional)
Bake at 350 for 30 to 45mins until golden brown and pie filling is set.

Lemon Chess Pie: A Southern Tradition
A thick, custardy textured pie, chess pie has long been associated with southern cuisine. No one quite agrees on the actual origins of the name except for the fact that it has absolutely nothing to do with the game of chess (We've always been more checkers type folks down here anyway). One theory is that since this pie kept so well in a common piece of furniture known as a pie safe or pie chest, they simply named it after that (we do have a tendency to drop our T's - gotta love the drawl!). Another theory is around the time the pie was invented, it did not have a name and when the cook was asked what kind it was, she simply replied Its 'ches pie (which is southern for It's just pie).
Either way, chess pie is just a good old fashioned dessert. And this lemon chess pie does not disappoint. See step by step instructions here:
