How To make Chicken with Dumplings
5 pounds chicken
pieces
2 whole carrot :
sliced thin
2 whole celery sliced fine
1 large onion :
chopped
1 1/2 teaspoons thyme crumbled
1/2 teaspoon rosemary :
crumbled
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper freshly ground
2 cups flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons parsley :
minced
4 tablespoons shortening
3/4 cup milk, 1% lowfat -- up to 1 cup milk
Rinse chicken, place in large pot,cover with water. Add carrots, celery, onion, thyme, rosemary, 2 tsp salt, and pepper. Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer. Combine flour, baking powder, 1 tsp salt and parsley in bowl. Cut in shortening until resembles course meal. Add milk and stir briefly with fork. Add only enough millk to make dough hold together. When chicken has simmered 20 minutes, drop spoonfuls of dough on top of bubbling broth. Cover and steam for 20 minutes without lifting cover.

fresh rosemary, thyme
salt/pepper to taste
1/2 tbsp low sodium chicken seasoning
1 tbsp low sodium chicken bouillon ( adjust to taste)
1 can cream of chicken soup
1/2 tbsp cornstartch ( mix with water then add)
Dumplings
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
crisco
1/2 cup milk

Lazy Chicken & Dumplings with Biscuits
1 cup onions
1 cup Celery
1 cup Carrots
Rotisserie Chicken Shredded
1 can Cream of Chicken
1 can Creamof Celery
1 cup Heavy Whipping Cream
Chicken broth 32oz
1 can Grands Southern Style Biscuits
1 tsp poutry season
1 tsp black pepper
1/2 stick unsalted of butter
Cook it on high stirring for about 3 mins and then reduce heat to low and cover for about 15 to 20 mins

Old Fashioned Chicken N Dumplins'
These are my husband/family pleasin Chicken N Dumplins'.
My family perfer the slick, thin and chewy dumplings which is what I make for them.

INGREDIENTS
1 onion, chopped
1 1/4 lb. Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast
1 tsp. oregano
kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper
2 cans cream of chicken soup
2 c. low-sodium chicken broth
4 sprigs thyme
1 bay leaf
2 stalks celery, chopped
2 carrots, chopped
1 c. frozen peas, thawed
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tube refrigerated biscuit dough
1/2 c. freshly grated Parmesan, for garnish optional)
2 tbsp. chopped parsley
DIRECTIONS
1. To the bowl of a large slow cooker, add onion in an even layer in the bottom of the bowl and place chicken breasts on top. Add oregano and season with salt and pepper.
2. Pour soup and chicken broth on top then add the thyme and bay leaf. Cover and cook on high for 3 hours, or until the chicken is cooked through.
3. Discard thyme and bay leaf, then shred the cooked chicken with two forks. Stir in celery, carrots, peas and garlic.
4. Cut biscuits into small pieces. Top the chicken mixture with the biscuits and cook on high for another hour, until the vegetables are tender and the biscuits are cooked through and chicken reaches an internal temperature of 170° F.
5. Garnish with Parmesan and parsley and serve.
