How To make Taco Seasoning Mix

chili powder
1
red pepper flakes
1 1/2
teaspoons
paprika
1
teaspoon
onion, powder
1/2
teaspoon
salt
3/4
teaspoon
garlic, salt
Directions:
Mix above spices together and keep in a zip lock bag. This recipe makes an equivalent of one envelope of purchased taco seasoning mix.
Brown your pound of ground beef, or turkey, drain fat, add 3/4 cup water and mix, and simmer until the desired consistency is achieved for taco filling, or use in another Mexican recipe.

I have really gotten into making my own seasonings and I'm loving it! I make a big batch and they last in my pantry for a long time. No running out and having to run to the store.
Today I am sharing with you the Copycat recipe for the Old El Paso Taco Seasoning Mix.
You will save money, it will have no preservatives, and it's super easy to make. I have
listed the recipe below. Have fun!
COPYCAT OLD EL PASO TACO SEASONING MIX
6 Tsp. Chili powder
5 Tsp. Paprika
4 1/2 Tsp. Cumin
2 1/2 Tsp. Onion Powder
1 Tsp. Salt
1/2 Tsp. Garlic powder
1/8 Tsp. Cayenne powder - This will make it similar to the 'original' El Paso mix.
If you want more heat you can add more!
INSTRUCTIONS:
Just mix all the seasonings together and store in an airtight jar of up to one year.
Use approximately 3 TBSP. of the seasoning mixture and 2/3 cup of water for
one pound of ground beef or you can taste it and make it as strong or as weak
as you want.

Quick & Easy Homemade Taco Seasoning
Homemade Taco Seasoning is the best DIY recipe that is made up of only seven easy-to-find ingredients! You can use this Paleo, gluten-free, keto, and Whole30 taco seasoning mix as a healthy alternative to a store bought packet to season ground beef, chicken, or other meats.
FULL RECIPE:
INGREDIENTS:
3 Tbsp. cumin
3 tsp. paprika
2 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. garlic powder
¼ tsp. cayenne pepper, optional
1 ½ tsp. salt optional
1 tsp. black pepper
INSTRUCTIONS:
Mix all ingredients in a medium-sized bowl until well combined.
Store taco seasoning in an airtight glass container until ready to use for up to 1-2 years.
Use 2 - 2 ½ tablespoons seasoning mix per pound of meat.
RECIPE NOTES:
This recipe makes enough seasoning for two pounds of meat.
If you do not like spicy food simply leave out the cayenne pepper.
You can leave out the salt if you would like to adjust your sodium levels for each individual recipe you make with the taco seasoning mix.
