The Day We Cook: Thai Beef Satay with Peanut Sauce
Ordinarily at this time of the year, I’d be prepping for my upcoming tours in the spring and summer. But because the global pandemic essentially has us quarantined at home, my work in travel has come to a halt.
More time spent at home has resulted in more time in the kitchen cooking up a storm, which I typically had no time for pre-Covid, given my busy travel schedule. It’s actually been quite enjoyable and therapeutic, plus eating in is so much healthier on the bank account. Ha! ????
It got me thinking how can I fuse my love of food and travel together while not actually traveling? And how can I still stay socially connected with my tour guests and others? One of my former travel guests and a dear friend simply encouraged this new venture ...
With that said, The Day We Travel presents The Day We ‘Cook,’ where I host a live cooking segment from home featuring dishes from around the world on a bi-weekly series (every other Wednesday at 11 am PST). Next one is on January 27th and I’ll be cooking Peruvian stuffed chili peppers. During each demo, I talk about the origin of the dish and how best to prepare it.
The Day We ‘Cook’ officially launched on January 13, 2021 where Thai beef satay with a savory peanut sauce was the dish of the day.
There were guests from all across the U.S. that tuned in, followed along, and asked questions. It was interactive and fun.
However, for anyone who might have missed the live presentation, this video walks you through the beloved Southeast Asian street food. Enjoy and stay tuned for more cooking videos! Find out more at
