How To make Portuguese Chili Beans
-MARY WILSON BWVB02B 2 c Dried kidney beans
1 ts Cooking oil or bacon
-drippings 1 md Onion; chopped
3 cl Grlic; mashed
1 1/2 lb Ground chuck or linguesa
1 cn (8 oz.) tomato sauce or
-tomato paste 1/4 ts -1/8 tsp. cloves
1 tb Chili powder (or less)
Salt and pepper to taste -(about 2 tsp. salt) Fresh parsley or bell pepper -chopped 1 sm Hot red pepper
Soak beans overnight, if desired, then cook until tender. Brown onion and garlic in oil. Add ground chuck and brown lightly. Add tomato sauce, cloves, chili powder, salt and pepper, parsley and whole red pepper. Boil for 10-15 minutes. Add beans and cook for 25 minutes or longer. Serve with Portuguese bread.

Homemade Chili ~ With a special ingredient - Chorizo!
Ingredients:
3 cups Ground Beef
3 cups Portuguese Chorizo
3 Bell Peppers (a green, a red, and a yellow)
1 Onion
5 Cloves of Garlic
1 Celery Stick
1 can (790 mL) Red Kidney Beans
1 can (790 mL) Diced/ Crushed Tomatoes
1/2 cup Tomato Paste
1 can 400 mL Maple Baked Beans
1/4 cup White Wine
Salt and Pepper (to taste)
2-3 100g packets of Chili Seasoning OR make your own (see below)
Make your own Chili Seasoning: (these measurements are equivalent to 2-3 of the 100g packets)
1 tbsp Smoked Paprika
1 tbsp Sweet Paprika
1/2 tbsp Garlic Powder
1 tbsp Cayenne Pepper
1/2 tbsp Ground Cumin
1/2 tbsp Salt
1/4 tbsp Ground Pepper
1/2 tbsp Dried Oregano

This is a very simple and light Italian bean soup that is quick and easy to prepare. This easy bean soup is so tasty that you will definitely want more.
Recipe:
2 carrots
2 small onions
1 large onion
2 garlic cloves
1.5 liters (6 glasses) water
3 black peppercorns
olive oil
1 celery stalk
1 can of chopped tomatoes
2 cans of white beans
100 g spinach
2 teaspoons dried basil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
salt to taste
pepper to taste
100 g spinach

Recipe:
1 lb ground beef (drain if needed)
1 Ib ground chourico
1 onion, chopped
30 ounces canned garbanzo beans
1 tbls paprika
desired amount of chili powder
1 can of beer
1 large can tomato puree
(add sugar to cutdown acidity if desired)
1 cup beef stock
Cooking Process:
Stir well and bring to a light simmer. Cover partially with the lid and let it cook like that for an hour. Keep cooking it until it has reduced to the consistency that you like at this point.
