Walt Disney's FAVORITE CHILI RECIPE! | OFFICIAL
We made Walt Disney's FAVORITE homemade chili recipe! This is an official Disney family recipe from 1958 which was shared by the Walt Disney Archives! They shared a hand typed recipe which was found in a file titled Walt's Favorite Foods. It was so cool to make Walt Disney's favorite food, homemade chili!! This chili recipe is very mild, as Walt didn't like things too spicy. Kids will love it for that reason! With that said, just add the recommended spices if you prefer your chili with more of a kick!
This chili recipe will fit perfectly in a 6 quart (5.7 liter pot). :)
This is the exact chili recipe (typed word for word) that was Walt Disney's favorite, per the Walt Disney Archives!
Ingredients:
2 lbs. coarse ground beef
2 onions, sliced
2 cloves garlic
1/2 cup oil
1 cup chopped celery
1 tsp. chili powder (depending on taste)
1 tsp. paprika
1 tsp. dry mustard
1 large can solid pack tomatoes
salt
2 lbs. dry pink beans
For spicy Chili and Beans add a pinch of the following spices:-
coriander seeds
turmeric
chili seeds
cumin seeds
fennel seeds
cloves
cinnamon
dry ginger
and 1 little yellow Mexican chili pepper
Directions:
Soak beans overnight in cold water.
Drain, add water to cover (2 inches over beans), and simmer with onions until tender (about 4 hours). Meanwhile prepare sauce by browning meat and minced garlic in oil. Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 1 hour. When beans are tender, add sauce to beans and simmer for 1/2 hour. Serves 6 to 8 people.

Walt Disney's Chili Cheese Dog ~Main Street Magic~
Today I’m making a copy-cat dish from the magic of Disney. If you’ve ever been to Disneyland/World, you’ll always find some good chili cheese dogs. Have you ever wondered why it tastes so good? Well, the chili is a bit magical, the man, the myth, the legend; Walt Disney’s favorite food, and his very own recipe is being used in the parks. Disney chefs have tweaked and perfected this dish over the years, and it’s still one of my favorite treats to enjoy at the most magical place on earth. I’m using a recipe shared by Disney, with a few minor tweaks here and there for my preference. Disney also likes to use all beef hot dogs, but they give me bad acid reflux, so instead I’m using an all pork hot dog. You adventurers can use any frank you prefer.
Walt’s Disney’s Chili Recipe
1 lb. stew meat (beef)
1 lb. ground beef
1 onion (finely diced)
1 bell pepper (finely diced)
1 can diced tomatoes
5-6 cloves of garlic
1 can of beans (Pinto, kidney, or black beans…Your preference)
1 can of tomato paste
1 tbsp. onion powder
1 ½ tbsp. chili powder
¾ tsp cayenne pepper
2 tbsp. of unsalted beef broth
Salt and pepper to taste
Olive oil
1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
In a large pot, add a touch of olive oil, and toss in stew meat and ground beef on medium high heat. Season it with a pinch of the seasonings. Cook the meat till you get some color on the meat. Add in the veggies and cook till onions start to become translucent. Add in the diced tomatoes and tomato paste. Throw in the beans, and the rest of the seasoning mix along with the broth. Let it simmer to about 3 to 4 hours. (If you want the chili to be rich and creamy, add in some cheese and mix it into the chili before serving. You can top it off with more cheese if you’re a cheese lover like me).
Hot Dog
Ingredients:
Your favorite franks/dog/sausage
Hot dog buns
Kraft cheese
American cheese
Shredded cheese
Grill up your franks. I grilled my bun for a couple seconds as well. Place 2 slices of Kraft cheese into the bun. Place hot dog on the buns, smother in chili, and add shredded cheese on top. For an extra dose of magic, cut the American cheese into Mickey Mouse shapes and add on top as well. Enjoy!

Award Winning Chili Recipe Ingredients
5 slices thick sliced, hardwood hickory smoked bacon
1 red bell pepper, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
3 stalks celery, chopped
1 small yellow onion, diced
½ - 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and diced
1 10.5 oz can beef consomme (you can also use beef stock)
1 6 oz can tomato paste
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 15 oz. cans diced tomatoes, undrained
1 15 oz. can pinto beans in mild or medium sauce (also called Chili Beans)
1 15 oz. can kidney beans in mild chili sauce
2 pounds ground beef
Crockpot Chili Ingredients - Spices
4 tablespoons chili powder
1 tablespoon dried oregano
1 tablespoon white sugar
2 teaspoons cumin
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
3 teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon basil
1 teaspoon Lawry’s seasoned salt
½ teaspoon ground pepper
½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
Award Winning Chili Recipe Directions
Prepare the vegetables for the recipe first. Roughly chop the red and green peppers and celery. Seed the jalapeno pepper(s), removing the seeds and membrane, then finely dice. Use more jalapeno for a spicier chili. Peel and dice one small yellow onion.
Cook the bacon in a large cast iron skillet, until the bacon is lightly crisp but not overdone. Remove the bacon and drain on a paper towel lined plate.
Saute the vegetables in the bacon grease for about 5 minutes, until tender. Remove the vegetables from the skillet, draining as much bacon grease from the vegetables as you can. Cook the ground beef in the skillet with the bacon grease. Cook the beef one pound at a time so the meat has enough room to brown and not steam. Break the ground beef into pieces about 1 - 2 inches. When cooked through, remove from the skillet and repeat with remaining meat.
Measure all of the spices into a small bowl, and mix together.
Now it’s time to assemble all of the ingredients into the slow cooker. Mix the beef consomme or beef stock in the crockpot with the tomato paste. Add the Worcestershire sauce and spice mixture, and stir to blend. Taste the mixture and adjust spices as you like. Add the cans of tomatoes and beans, all undrained. Add the beef and sauteed vegetables. Chop or cut the bacon into about ½ inch pieces and add to the crockpot chili mixture. Cover and cook on low for about six hours. I love that this is a crockpot chili recipe! It’s so easy to put together in the morning and have delicious chili ready for dinner!
