Orange Soda BBQ Sauce on Spare Ribs
I’ve been experimenting with an Orange Soda Barbecue Sauce. My family really likes it on ribs and chicken. I have developed a few variations.
Orange Soda Barbecue Sauce:
Ingredients:
• 1 cup orange soda
• 1 cup ketchup (catsup)
• ½ cup honey
• 1 oz (2Tbs) of Tiger sauce
• 3 table spoons of either 57 sauce or A1 sauce. (The 57 is zesty with an intense orange color, the A1 is a little more robust and makes the sauce a deep orange almost brown color)
• 1 or 2 Tbs of Tabasco or Louisiana style hot sauce.
• ½ teaspoon of liquid smoke
• 1 Tbs of garlic powder
• 1 Tbs of onion powder
• ½ Tbs of black pepper
Instructions: In a sauce pot combine all ingredients bring to rolling boil then simmer for 10-15 morning minutes until sauce reduces to about 1/4 of original volume.

St Louis Style Ribs with Orange BBQ Sauce | Oklahoma Joe’s®
We love a good twist on classic smoked spare ribs. That's why our recipe for St. Louis-Style Ribs with Orange BBQ Sauce is such a hit. Spare ribs offer bigger, meatier bites than baby backs, and they always play well with fruit flavors. While the homemade rib rub is fairly traditional, the sauce includes a big dollop of orange marmalade to impart sweet, citrusy notes. Fire up your Longhorn Combo for some slow smoking, then finish these ribs up with high-heat grilling until the sauce tacks up.
We made this recipe on the Longhorn Combo Charcoal and Gas Smoker:
