How To make Iced Lemongrass Tea
Stephen Ceideburg 1/4 c Chopped fresh lemongrass
-tops or 2 tb Dried flakes
4 c Boiling water
Sugar to taste Preheat teapot with boiling water; discard water. Add lemongrass and boiling water, steep 8 to 10 minutes; strain. Allow to cool, sweeten to taste, and serve in tall glasses with ice.

Iced Mint Tea Recipe + Lemongrass Tea Recipe for Cold Brew Mint Tea
The Perfect Mint Iced Tea Recipe, which also doubles as a lemongrass iced tea recipe.
Just use slightly less mint that I used. This video shows you how to make cold mint tea with some delicious extra ingredients which all have good health benefits.
Serve chilled or as a delicious iced mint tea for the summer. This cold mint tea features no sugar or sweetener at all- that is a major benefit as most people consume far too much sugar. Dr Berg says the average person consumes 20 teaspoons of sugar a day. This mint tea benefit of having no sugar will cut that down a lot.
This tea recipe features ingredients which all have health beefits:
- Fresh Mint leaves (include some stems)
- Lemongrass (shaved or cut very thin)
- Butterfly Pea flowers for blue color (dried or fresh is fine)

Lemongrass will probably need to be bought from an organic shop, but Butterfly Pea flowers are very easy to grow and an attractive addition to any garden. Organic iced teas are healthier but if you can't go organic, just rinse the flowers with hot or near boiling water before steeping.
Iced tea recipes like this are called tisaines because they do not have anything from tea plants, which means you can drink them anytime of the day as there is no caffeine. Tisaine recipes are designed to be drank anytime in any season. This iced mint tea fresh mint combination is great for the summer.
This is also a lemongrass iced tea and it is important that any lemongrass iced tea needs to be steeped longer than usual as lemongrass is a strong root crop. We were able to buy shavings, but even those can be re-steeped over and over. The mint is also something that can give more flavor with extra steeps- try crshing some of the stems and ripping the leaves to help the flavors come out and infuse into the perfect cold mint tea with lemongrass.
Lemongrass tea benefits again includ the fact that we are not using sugar. Plus the taste is far nicer than ginger, shich I find bitter in iced tea. Lemongrass has some of the same health benefits as ginger, but with a much milder taste.

It is very satisfying when you come up with something unique and delicious, plus it is a real pleasure when giving to friends and family. One our of favorite extra healthy tea ingredients are roselle flowers, which have a natural sweetness.
