Elvis Presley (Best Ever) Apple Pie

This recipe came from my Elvis Presley cookbook that I purchased at Graceland.
6 cups tart apples, such as Granny Smith peeled and sliced
2/3 cup sugar (I used Splenda and it was fantastic!)
2 tablespoon flour
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1-2 teaspoons cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
2 tablespoon butter
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line a deep 9-inch pie pan with pastry. In a large bowl, mix the sliced apples, sugar, flour, lemon juice and spices. Fill the pie shell with the mixture. Dot with butter. Cover with top crust, sealing edges well. Make a slit in crust to allow steam to vent. Place a strip of aluminum foil around edges to prevent excessive browning. Sprinkle with sugar and bake at 375 degrees for about 50 minutes.
Makes 8 servings.
DELICIOUS.
Now here is something interesting. I'm lazy, I mean tired, so I looked around to see if someone already typed this recipe and they had it typed with 1/2 tsp. cinnamon. Instead of 1-2, which is what was in my cookbook. Now, thinking about it, 1/2 DOES make sense because I did think that the 2 tsp. was a bit cinnamon-y for me but mother said no, she loved it. Hell yeah she loved it. She was already cleaning her plate when I was getting done eating my slice, and I thought I had shoveled it down pretty darn quickly HAHAHA
It was a little juicy last night, but today it wasn't.
