*** Full Recipe ~ Candied Pecans the Healthy Way ***
This recipe can also be made with raw soaked almonds, cashews or any nut of your choice.
Organic Ingredients
2 cups raw un pasteurized pecans
1 heaping tablespoon coconut oil
1 heaping tablespoon 4th heart ghee (use 1 more table spoon of coconut oil for vegan option)
1 tablespoon real maple syrup
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon cardamon
1/2 teaspoon cloves
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon pink Himalayan sea salt
~ Step 1
How to soak your pecans
Place in a bowl or un covered jar and cover with water for 6-12 hours
~ Step 2
Set oven to 170 or lower if possible
Melt ghee and coconut oil on a flat baking sheet in oven
~ Step 3
Pour nuts on to cooking sheet, coat in coconut oil and ghee
Add spices as maple syrup
~ Step 4
Place in oven with the door a jar for 30/45 min
Take out and flip each nut, insuring every nut is evenly coated with oil and spices.

Brussel Sprout Salad Recipe
Serves: 4-6
1 lb. brussel sprouts, (whole or shaved) I shredded mine in a food processor.
15 ounce can mandarin oranges in light syrup (drained but reserve 3 T juice)
3 T mandarin orange syrup from the can
3 T rice wine vinegar
1/3 C extra virgin olive oil
1 T Dijon mustard
¼ tsp kosher salt
¼ tsp. ground black pepper
½ C feta, crumbled
1 C candied pecans (recipe below)
2 T butter
¼ C light brown sugar
½ tsp. ground cinnamon
½ tsp. ancho chili powder
½ tsp. kosher salt
3 T water
In a large mixing bowl, add your mandarin orange syrup, rice wine vinegar, Dijon mustard, EVOO ¼ tsp kosher salt and ¼ tsp. ground black pepper.
Whisk this all together. Now, add your brussel sprouts and mandarin oranges and give it all a stir. Finally, add your feta and candied pecans. Mix well.
Serve and enjoy!
Candied Pecan Recipe
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Heat a skillet over medium high heat and add your butter, brown sugar, water, pecans, cinnamon, ancho chili powder and salt. Cook while stirring until the all the pecans are coated and the water has evaporated. Place pecans on the baking sheet in a single layer. Bake for 5-7 minutes.

1 cup butter -- melted
1 cup Dr. Pepper Soda
4 tablespoons cocoa powder
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
Dr. Pepper Icing

1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup Dr. Pepper
3 tablespoons cocoa powder
16 ounces confectioner's sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped pecans
Cake
----------
In a small sauce pot heat butter, cocoa powder and Dr. Pepper. Mix well and set aside.
Cream eggs, sugar and butter, milk and baking soda. Add flour and cinnamon alternately with Dr. Pepper mixture, then vanilla extract.
Pour into greased and flour 9X12 or large springform pan and bake at 350 degrees.
Bake for 25 to 35 minutes or insert a toothpick into the center of the cake if it comes out clean the cake is done.
Ice with Dr Pepper Icing.

Heat butter, cocoa and Dr. Pepper and blend well. Stir in other ingredients. Mix thoroughly and ice cake.
