How To make Country Style Venison
2 Pounds Venison chuck roast, boneless -- 1 1/2 inch cubes
2 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil
2 Cups water
1/2 Cup dry red wine
1 Scallions, minced
1 Tablespoon salt
1/2 Teaspoon black pepper,freshly ground
6 small white onions
6 samll whole carrots
3 medium potatoes,pared & cubed
1 medium Kohlrabi,pared & cubed
4 stalks celery,2-inch long strips
1 Pound mushrooms, whole, fresh
hot cooked rice fresh parsley
Brown venison cubes on all sides in hoy oil in large, heavy skillet. Add water, wine, scallion, salt & pepper; bring to boil. Reduce heat; cover & simmer 1 1/2 hours. Add vegetables; cover & simmer 20 minutes, or until tender. Serve over hot cooked rice. Garnish with parsley.

In this video, I shall show you how to cook Venison Curry. Venison is deer meat and is available in Europe as both wild venison and farmed venison. Venison is lean meat & has a gamey flavour. There aren't many Indian recipes that feature venison these days, since hunting wild game is banned in India. However, in the olden days, venison and other game meats were widely consumed all over India.
I live in rural England and here venison meat is readily available, so I have cooked a lot of Venison curries, since I really enjoy the meat. Most of my recipes are a result of my own experimentation, since Indian Venison recipes aren't documented online much. My venison recipes cater more for the Indian palate, rather than Western palate and are not served pink! I decided to share some of my Venison recipes on YouTube for discerning viewers to cook & enjoy!

COUNTRY STYLE COOKING WITH GROUND VENISON (Deer Burger)
I'm sharing 2 quick recipes to use up your ground venison (deer burger). This is good old fashioned country cooking with simple ingredients meant to fill up bellies.
Hug 'n Kiss Soup
Hunter's Delight
Melt 2 T. butter in skillet. Brown 1.5 pounds of ground venison until just cooked through. Add in 1 small diced onion. Turn off heat. Pour in 12 c. milk, 1 can cream corn, seasoned salt, pepper, garlic and onion powder to taste. Grease a large casserole dish and spread 4 cups sliced potatoes in bottom. Top with meat mixture. Bake covered at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Remove foil and check potatoes for doneness. They should be soft. Top with shredded cheese or french fried onions. Bake uncovered an additional 10-15 minutes. This was so simple and very good.

Shop at Cabela's. This is a down home comfort food kind of meal that you will love. If you do not care for wild game, then use the same recipe for chicken fried steak or chicken fried chicken or country fried steak. But we eat allot of deer meat and chicken fried backstrap and cream gravy is one of our favorite venison recipes. Now this is made from the loin not the tenderloin, but the tenderloin can be used. Some people have a hard time making cream gravy, but if you will follow my instructions for how to make cream gravey you will be making it like a pro. My family always loves having some mashed potato to go with their deer meat and gravy. Now I am calling this a deer meat recipe but it will work with any kind of venison backstrap, elk, mule deer, and moose will all work great.
