4 fresh cod fish steaks (3/4-inch thick) 1 Small onion
chopped 1/4 Lb. mushrooms :
chopped 6 Tbsp. boiling water 3 Tbsp. butter 3 Tbsp. flour 2 C. milk salt -- pepper and paprika Place steaks in oiled baking dish. Cook onion and mushrooms 3 minutes in water; add butter, stir in flour and mix. Add milk; heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Season and pour over cod. Sprinkle with paprika. Bake in moderate 350 degrees oven 30 to 35 minutes or until fish is tender. Makes 4 servings.

5 Cod fillet 2 1/2 tbsp Ghee 1/4 Onion 5 Garlic cloves 1/2 tbsp Roasted Chicken better than bouillon 8oz Sliced mushrooms 10oz Baby spinach 6oz Heavy whipping cream Salt to taste Pepper to taste
Step by Step
Step 1: Heat skillet and add 1 1/2 tbsp of ghee. Make sure skillet is hot when adding ghee.
Step 2: Add cod fillets nice side down first and let sear for 4 minutes or until opaque towards the middle.
Step 3: Flip cod, let cook for 2 more minutes, then remove and set aside.
Step 4: Add the rest of the ghee to the skillet and sauté onions until semi-translucent.
Step 5: Add garlic and mushrooms, cook for 3 minutes.
Step 6: Add heavy cream, bring to a simmer.
Step 7: Add roasted chicken bouillon and mix well until melted in sauce.
Step 8: Add spinach, mix in and let simmer until cooked to your liking.
Final step: Plate and serve.

Creamy Cod & Potato Gratin - Food Wishes
Creamed cod was one of my favorite childhood comfort foods, mostly because my mother served it over mashed potatoes, which was my favorite childhood food of any type. This version is a little fancier than my mom’s, but still very easy, and can be done in individual portions, or in one large casserole dish. Enjoy!
