sifted 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon salt 2 cups quick oats :
uncooked Cream together sugars and shortening. Blend in eggs, vanilla and milk. Sift to gether flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Add all at once to egg mixt ure. Beat until smooth. TIPS:
???? Use a heavy bottomed milk pan to caramelise the sugar. ???? Ensure the pan is dry before adding sugar. ???? Remember to prepare the coffee on LOW HEAT throughout, otherwise the sugar would crystallise or butterscotch may get burnt. You can use the lowest heat setting on the smallest burner/plate. ???? Stay careful while adding hot milk to the hot butterscotch.
