✅Ingredients
• 1 (2-3 pound) salmon filet deboned
• 1/2 cup soy sauce
• 1/4 cup honey
• 1/4 cup orange juice
• 4 cloves garlic minced
• 1 teaspoon ground ginger
• 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
• 1 orange thinly sliced (optional)
• 1 tablespoon minced fresh parsley for garnishing (optional)
✅Instructions
1️⃣ Place the salmon fillet in a shallow dish or gallon-sized resealable plastic bag.
2️⃣ In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, orange juice, garlic, ginger, and pepper flakes. Pour the marinade over the salmon. Cover or seal and transfer to the fridge to marinate for 30 minutes.
3️⃣ Place the salmon fillet in the center of the baking sheet. Place the orange slices (if using)on top of the fillet and then loosely wrap aluminum foil around the fillet to trap the steam. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork. Top with the minced parsley (if using).
Flavor Variations:
Lemon-Garlic Salmon: For the marinade, use 2 tablespoons olive oil, 2 tablespoons lemon juice, 3 minced garlic cloves, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon dried basil, 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. Top with thinly sliced lemon and bake as instructed. Garnish with fresh parsley.
Garlic-Dill Butter Salmon: Skip the marinating and simply whisk together 1/2 cup melted salted butter, 1/4 cup lemon juice, 8 crushed garlic cloves, and 2 tablespoons freshly minced dill. Drizzle the sauce over the salmon fillet and bake as instructed.
Chili-Lime Salmon: Skip the marinating and whisk together 1/4 cup lime juice, 2 teaspoons chili powder, and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Brush the liquid over the top of the salmon fillet and top with thinly sliced lime. Bake as instructed and garnish with chopped fresh cilantro.

Can I grill skinless salmon?
You can, but it requires a little more finesse. Skin really helps keep the fish together while it cooks, and makes flipping so much easier. Cooking skinless filets may lead the fish to fall apart, but ultimately it will still taste great! (Who wants to miss out on crispy grilled skin though?!) You can always remove the skin after grilling if you prefer. The skin comes off easily after being cooked.
How do I flip the fish without breaking it?
The #1 culprit of broken grilled fish is flipping too soon. Fish obviously sticks to grill grates, but as soon as those lovely char marks are achieved, the fish will release from the grates and will be super easy to flip. If you're feeling ANY resistance when you peek at the underside of your fish, DON'T flip! The same goes for pan-fried salmon. It's also important to make sure your grill is nice and hot before adding the salmon. This is usually a bigger problem in skillets because people often don't give them enough time to preheat, but the same still goes for the grill. You can also brush your salmon with a little oil to help ensure it won't stick.
