Easy Creamy Lemon Tahini Dressing Recipe
????Easy Creamy Lemon Tahini Dressing Recipe ????
With the perfect balance of sweet and tangy, this creamy, healthy dressing is sure to be one of your new favourites!
???????? Prep Time: 5 mins
⏲ Total Time: 5 mins
???? Servings: 4
Ingredients:
????5 tbsp tahini
???? 1/4 cup lemon juice (fresh is best if you have it!)
???? 1 clove garlic, minced. 1 tsp garlic powder will work as a substitute.
???? 1 tsp salt
???? 1 tbsp pure maple syrup
???? 1-4 tbsp water to adjust consistency if needed.
Instructions:
???? Add all ingredients to a mason jar and shake well to combine.
???? Add water 1 tbsp at a time to adjust the consistency. The thickness of tahini can vary, so you'll need to adjust the dressing to your preferred thickness. It should be thick and creamy, but thin enough to pour over a salad.
???? Taste the dressing and adjust it to your preference. If you like it a little sweeter, add a little more maple syrup.
???? Serve on a salad or use it as a sauce or marinade on your favourite protein.
???? Leftovers last in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 5 days. I love adding this on herb crusted tofu steaks, chickpea schwarma salad and more!
Notes:
???? With the perfect balance of sweet and tangy, this creamy, healthy dressing is sure to be one of your new favourites! I can’t believe how incredibly creamy this dairy-free dressing really is.
???? Q: What can this vegan lemon tahini dressing be used on?
???? A: This can be used on:
???? Salads
???? Kale salads
???? Chickpea salads
???? Bean salads
???? Buddha bowls
???? On protein (I love it on herb crusted tofu steaks!)
???? It's delicious on falafel
???? Vegan wraps and so much more!
????Q: What is tahini?
????A: I often compare tahini with a nut butter since it’s a similar idea. Tahini is simply ground up sesame seeds. It has a beautiful savoury, nutty, slightly bitter flavour, and has a similar consistency to a nut butter. When you open a jar of tahini, you will notice the oil has separated and shifted to the top. Give your tahini a really good stir before using it to keep the consistency as even as possible.
????Q: What are the benefits of tahini?
????A: I’m not a doctor ???? but here are some of the potential health benefits of tahini:
- Highly nutritious
- High in protein
- High in calcium, vitamin B and E
- Rich in antioxidants
- May decrease your risk of certain diseases
- May have antibacterial properties
- Contains anti-inflammatory compounds
- May strengthen your central nervous system
- May offer anticancer effects
- Helps protect liver and kidney function.
???? All I can say is wow! The potential health benefits of tahini are incredible. I love using tahini as an alternative to dairy in a creamy dip or dressing. This vegan dressing is also perfect for your plant-based meal prep. I love having dips and dressings that are multi-purpose to use throughout the week. I often use this on falafel, wraps, and a salad all in the same week.
???? Q: What can I use as a substitute for maple syrup?
???? A: You can use agave, organic sugar, coconut sugar, rice syrup, or your other favourite sweetener in this dressing. I prefer the taste of maple syrup, but that’s probably because I’m a Canadian from maple syrup country ????????
