Canning Black Beans Is So Easy!!
Canning beans has several amazing benefits... dry beans are cheap and easy to store and once you have them canned they make a great and versatile convenience food.
Even more importantly, store-bought canned beans are not properly prepared... the beans have not been soaked before they were canned leaving them full of phytic acid, an anti-nutrient, and enzyme inhibitor. When you can your own beans at home you have full control of the preparation, making the final product much more nourishing.
Beans need to be canned in a pressure canner to be safe. But don't worry... pressure canners are easy to use once you get the hang of them. In this video, Carolyn shows you every step of the process of preparing and canning your dry beans for a cheap, convenient and healthy pantry food.

5 EASY Instant Pot Recipes for Beginners
I wanted to share my 5 easiest go-to Instant Pot recipes for beginners. I use these in my 6 quart Instant Pot at least once a week for the last 2 years.
Dried Beans - 1-1.5 pounds of dried beans of your choice, cover with about an inch of water coverage and hit that bean button. I like to let it natural release for 30 minutes.
Instant Pot Hard Boiled Eggs - 5 minutes at high pressure and let sit for 3-4 minutes. Get them in ice!
Instant Pot Steel Cut Oats - 1 cup oats to 3 cups water. 3 minutes at high pressure.
Instant Pot Rice - I like 1 cup of rice to about 1.5 cups of water. 12 minutes at high pressure.
Instant Pot Mashed Potatoes - 1 cup of water at the bottom, as many potatoes as you want on top. High pressure for 20 minutes and then mash right in the pot!
Here are the 2 pressure cookers I use:
6 quart Instant Pot -
