Breaded Honey Cauliflower Bites | Doug Cooking
Crispy Breaded Cauliflower Bites tossed in a Honey Glaze! The cauliflower are coated in a breadcrumb mixture and baked. Then the florets are transformed with bright floral honey, ginger, and lemon sauce. Make a full batch in the oven, or use the air fryer for a half recipe. The honey glaze is also perfect for chicken wings to roasted carrots. Enjoy!
Recipe Ingredients:
1 Whole Cauliflower (2.5-3 lbs)
2 Eggs
2 tablespoons Mayonnaise
1 cup Plain bread crumbs
1 cup Panko bread crumbs
1 tablespoon Olive oil
1/3 cup Honey
1 Lemon (zest & juice)
1/2 teaspoon Ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon Turmeric
1/4 teaspoon Chili flakes
Salt
Pepper
Fresh parsley or chives, chopped (optional for garnish)
Preheat oven to 425°F.
Cut cauliflower into bite size florets, and place cauliflower florets into a large bowl.
Meanwhile, in a small bowl, add together two eggs with two tablespoons mayonnaise, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Whisk to combine.
In a wide shallow bowl, add 1 cup Panko and 1 tablespoon olive oil. Using a fork, toss to evenly coat the crumbs with oil. Add 1 cup dry plain breadcrumbs to panko and toss again.
Pour the egg/mayonnaise mixture, over the cauliflower and toss with a rubber spatula to evenly coat the cauliflower. Dredged the cauliflower florets, just a few pieces at a time, through the breadcrumbs then place on a rimmed baking sheet that has been lined with parchment. Be sure to form an even layer for good browning. Bake cauliflower for 25-30 minutes, until golden brown and crispy.
Meanwhile, in large bowl, combine 1/3 cup (about 6 tablespoons) honey along with 1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice, 1 teaspoon lemon zest, 1/2 tsp each ground Ginger, Turmeric, and 1/4 teaspoon Chili flakes, and 1/8 teaspoon salt. Whisk to combine.
Transfer the baked cauliflower bites into the bowl with the honey mixture, tossing gently to coat. Transfer cauliflower to a serving platter and top with fresh parsley or chives. Enjoy!
Note: the cauliflower bites can be held in a 200°F oven after baking for 10-15 mins, until ready to glaze and serve.

Honey Chilli Cauliflower Recipe:
Cauliflower Florets - 500 grams
Hot Water - For soaking
Salt - 1 pinch
To Coat:
Maida - 2 tbsp
Cornflour - ¼ Cup
Salt - ½ tsp
Black Pepper Powder - ¼ tsp
Water - ¼ Cup
Sauce:
Oil - 2 tbsp
Garlic (finely chopped) - 1 tbsp
Red Chilli Flakes - 1 tbsp
Water - ½ Cup
Honey - ¼ Cup
Spring Onions (chopped) - 1 tbsp + finely chopped
Toasted Sesame Seeds - For Garnish
Cooking Instructions:
1. To a bowl, add the cauliflower florets, add hot water and salt. Let the cauliflower soak for 10 minutes and strain it and put it back in the bowl.
2. Add cornflour, maida, salt, pepper and water and mix well till the cauliflower is coated with the batter.
3. Heat oil in a kadai and fry the cauliflower till it turns golden brown and crispy. Keep it aside
4. Heat a pan, add oil, add chopped ginger and garlic. Saute till they turn light brown
5. Add the chilli flakes and let it fry for a second and then add the water.
6. Add doney and mix well till it combines with the water and becomes a thick sauce.
7. Add the fried cauliflower, chopper spring onion and toss well till the cauliflower is coated with the sauce.
8. Garnish it with toasted sesame seeds and serve it hot

Mandarin Orange Glazed Cauliflower with Asparagus
Ingredients
1 - 12 ounce bag cauliflower florets, frozen and defrosted
1/2 cup California Balsamic Mandarin Orange Vinegar
Preparation: Marinate the defrosted, frozen cauliflower florets in the vinegar for at least 4 hours
Ingredients:
10 ounce bag of chopped onions
minced garlic, ginger and crushed red pepper flakes, to taste
One bag of Trader Joe's grilled asparagus, defrosted and cut into pieces
Preparation:
Saute the onion until browned as shown in the video. Add the ginger and garlic and saute for another minute or two. Add the marinated cauliflower until the vinegar is cooked off. Serve over rice. Sprinkle with sesame seeds, if desired.

Ginger Soy Cauliflower makes for a 20-minute Asian cauliflower Dinner Recipe. Crispy Fried Cauliflower is tossed in a sweet and sticky Ginger Soy Sauce and served.

- 1 Large Cauliflower Head Chopped into florets
- ½ cup Cornstarch
- 2 Large Eggs beaten
- 1 cup Canola Oil to deep fry the Cauliflower
Ginger Soy Sauce
- 1 Tsp Sesame Oil
- 2 inch Ginger finely chopped
- 2 Tbsp Dark Soy Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Rice Vinegar
- 1 Tbsp Oyster Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Sriracha
- 2 Tbsp Ketchup
- ¼ cup Honey
Garnish
- Sesame Seeds
- Chopped Spring Onions
- Ginger Juliennes
1) Dredge the Cauliflower in Cornstarch and then again in beaten Eggs. Heat Canola Oil in a pan. As the oil shimmers, add the Cauliflower and fry until they get crispy and golden brown. Take it out on a tissue paper-lined plate and soak out the excess oil.
2) In a separate pan, heat some Sesame Oil. As the oil shimmers, add the Chopped Ginger. Allow it to get fragrant for 1 minute. Add all the sauces and stir to combine. Allow it to simmer for 3 minutes over low heat.
3) Toss the Cauliflower in the sticky Ginger Soy Sauce and serve.
