How To make Beans'N' Rice Cha Cha Cha
INGREDIENTS:
2 tb Olive oil
2 lg Cloves garlic, minced
1 c Sliced onion
1 c Peeled, sliced celery
1 c Sliced carrots
1 t Chili powder
1/4 c Canned diced green chiles
2 c Sliced mushrooms
2 c Cooked basic black beans
(see following recipe) 1/2 c Reserve bean stock
2 tb Chopped cilantro
Salt and pepper to taste 3 c Cooked brown rice
BASIC BEANS:
1 lb Dried beans (black, navy,
Pinto, haricot, etc) 1/4 Onion, roughly sliced
1 tb Lemon juice
2 ts Salt or to taste
1. In large deep saucepan heat olive oil, and saute
garlic, onion, celery, carrots and chili powder, until onion is translucent. 2. Add chiles and mushrooms and saute 5 minues more.
3. Stir in beans, bean stock and cilantro. Season to
taste. 4. Cover and simmer over low heat about 10 minutes,
stirring occasionally. 5. Serve over rice.
DIRECTIONS FOR BASIC BEANS: 1. Prepare beans for cooking as described in How
Cook Beans. (see next post) 2. Cook covered, with onion and lemon juice, until
tender. Do not stir during cooking. 3. Add salt to taste
4. Set aside until next day. They should be somewhat
soupy. DEAL-A-MEAL CARDS USED: 1 Bread 1 Meat 1 Vegetable 1 Fat 263 Calories

If you do not know, Hoppin' John is the Southern food version of beans and rice. Traditionally, a Hoppin' John recipe uses black eyed peas. However, this version instead calls for black beans and brown rice. Spice things up here by adding more cayenne pepper and hot sauce. Ingredients- :
1.Chicken- 250gm
2.Rice-1Cup
3.Oil-4 spoon
4.French beans- 1Bowl
5.Carrot- 1Bowl
6.Green peas- 1Bowl
7.Black pepper- 5-6
8.Cardamoms- 2
9.Salt- 1 spoon (according 2 taste)
10.Ginger- 2spoon
11.Turmeric powder-little bit
12.coriander powder- 1spoon
13.Garam masala- 1 spoon
14.Red chilli powder-1 spoon
15.Garlic paste-1 spoon
15.Spring Onion For Garnish.
Method-:
1.First of all marinate the chicken with little salt,red chilli powder,Coriander powder,Turmeric powder,ginger n garlic paste for 20 min
2.iske bad hum French beans n carrot ko chop karege diamond shape me.
3.iske bad kadai bhithaye jab garam ho jaye tab oil dale.ab ekek vegetables ko fry kare French beans,carrot, green peas.or nikalkar plate me rakhe.
4.ab chicken ko fry kare thode-2 dale jab tak light brown na ho usko bich'2 me chalate rahe.yeh hone k bad nikal le.
5.rice ko bhi boil hone k liye bhaitha de..boil hone k bad chan le.
6.ab kadai me oil dalkar usme cardamoms, black pepper n Ginger paste dale 1spoon. 1-2 min tak stir karre.
7.ab usme sari vegetables fry ki hui n chicken fry dale ab usme salt n garam masala dale ise ache se mix kare.
8.Ab usme boil rice ko thoda-2 dalte rehe phir use ache se mix kare. 2 min tak dhak k rehne de.
9.ab ise plate me serve kare upar se thoda spring onion se garnish kare n ise enjoy kare.
