Som Tam Salad Recipe:
Raw Papaya (julienne) - 1 no
Beans (length-wise) - 4 nos
Carrot (julienne) - 1 no
Bird’s Eye Chilli (slit) - 2 nos
Peanuts (crushed) - 1 tbsp
Dressing:
Brown Sugar - 2 tbsp
Lemon Juice - 2 tbsp
Soya Sauce - 2 tbsp
Garlic (minced) - 3 cloves
Garnish:
Spring Onion (chopped) - 2 Sprigs
Coriander Leaves - 3 Sprigs
Mixed Lettuce - As Needed For Plating
Water - For Blanching
Salt (For Blanching) - ½ tsp
Cooking Instructions:
1. For the dressing, in a bowl combine the brown sugar, lemon juice, soya sauce and minced garlic.
2. For the salad, peel, de-seed, and shred the raw papaya.
3. Blanch in salted water and cut the beans lengthwise. The carrots are to be cut in julienne.
4. Slit the chillies diagonally and crush the peanuts, coarsely.
5. Combine the salad and dressing gently.
6. Place the salad on a bed of mixed lettuce.
7. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves, spring onion and crushed peanuts.
Cooking Tips:
1. Beans must remain crunchy after blanching.
2. Combine the salad and dressing gently to retain the structure of the vegetables.

Ingredients:
Raw papaya 1 n
Ginger 1 small pieces
Garlic 4 n
Shallots 5 n
Carrot 2 n
Beans 3 n
Tomato 2 n
Salt
Soya sauce 1 tb
Chilly paste 1 tb
Chopped coriander 1 b
Honey 1 tb
Lemon juice 1 tb
Directions:
1. First peel and cut the raw papaya thin like noodles.
2. Take ginger, garlic, shallots, crush in a mortar pestle.
3. Take a bowl and add carrot, beans, add crushed ginger, garlic, shallots paste, add thin slices of tomato, papaya, salt, Soya sauce, red chilly paste, chopped coriander, honey, lemon juice, and crush the vegetables.
4. And then add crushed peanuts and mix it well ready the salad.

Easy Papaya Salad
Serves 2
Ingredients
2 to 3 cloves garlic
2 to 3 Thai chili
2 Tbs palm sugar
2 Tbs fish sauce
1/2 tsp shrimp paste (optional)
2 Tbs dried shrimp
Fresh juice from 1 juicy lime (approximately 2 1/2 Tbs)
8 to 10 oz shredded green papaya (approximately 1/2 of medium size green papaya)
2 oz long beans or green beans cut into 2-inch pieces
4 oz cherry tomatoes, halved or regular tomatoes cut into bite sizes
2 Tbs roasted peanuts

Thai green papaya salad, known better as som tam (ส้มตำ) is one of the most popular Thai street food dishes available. Though it's an Isaan, northeastern Thai dish, som tam can be found throughout the entire country, and is widely popular in Bangkok where you'll find it being served at just about every street corner in the entire city.
So today, in this video, I'll be showing you how to make this Thai green papaya salad recipe. There's actually no cooking involved in this Thai recipe, and as long as you can get the ingredients fresh, you'll be able to make this salad and it will taste wonderful. Probably the hardest part of making som tam would be combining the exactly right combination of dressing ingredients together - it's a ratios and a balance thing - and it's also up to your own personal taste buds the way you like it. I personally enjoy my Thai green papaya salad spicy and sour. But many people like it less spicy and sour, and more sweet. Even when you order your Thai green papaya salad on the streets of Thailand, the vendor will occasionally reach in with the spoon and motion to give you a sample so you can taste if it's the way you like it, and if not, you can tell them to add more chili, more fish sauce, or anything else to make it the way you like it. So make sure you taste test!
Ok, so anywhere, this recipe makes just one big plate of som tam, which you can share with others along with other dishes for a full meal, or you can eat the whole thing yourself. Thai green papaya salad is a very common lunchtime dish in Bangkok, often eaten with a skewer of grilled chicken and a bag of sticky rice for starch.
Here are the ingredients:
2 cloves of garlic
5 Thai chillies
2 tablespoons roasted peanuts
1 tablespoon fish sauce
½ - 1 tablespoon palm sugar
1 - 2 limes
1 tablespoon of dried shrimp (optional)
1 - 2 small tomatoes (in Thailand I used sida tomatoes, but you could probably use roma tomatoes)
1 green papaya
Long-beans or green beans
Green cabbage
Thai sweet basil
