FRENCH APPLE PIE BREAD (Paleo / Low Carb / Gluten Free)
A sweet apple pie bread with a cinnamon crumble topping. It has options for Paleo or low carb, which is great. I found this recipe at beautyandthefoodie.com, and it was a nice little treat. The only thing I would change next time is to dice the apples and after putting the crumble topping on, I’d stir the the apples and crumble down into the bread a bit. That way you get some fruit and crumble in the bread itself, and not as much on top which can fall off when eating. It was very tasty though, I will definitely make this again.
INGREDIENTS
• ½ cup coconut flour, sifted
• ⅓ cup almond flour
• ⅓ cup sweetener (coconut sugar for paleo, erythritol granular for low carb)
• 1 tsp cinnamon
• 1 tsp baking powder
• ½ tsp baking soda
• 3 eggs
• ½ cup unsweetened almond milk or coconut milk
• ⅓ cup unsweetened applesauce
• 2 tbsp butter or coconut oil, melted
• ½ tsp vanilla extract
• ½ apple medium sized, thinly sliced
Crumble Topping Ingredients:
• 2 tbsp almond flour or meal, or ground pecans
• 2 tbsp sweetener of choice: coconut sugar for paleo, or 2 tbsp erythritol for low carb
• 2 tbsp unsweetened shredded coconut
• 2 tbsp butter or coconut oil, melted
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Preheat oven to 375°F / 190°C, and grease or oil an 8 x 4 inch or 8½ x 4 ½ inch loaf pan. (I used the smaller size.)
2. In a large mixing bowl combine the first six (dry) ingredients. Mix together thoroughly. Set aside.
3. In a medium mixing bowl combine the next 5 (wet) ingredients. Mix together thoroughly.
4. Add wet mixture to dry mixture and stir together thoroughly.
5. Put the mixture into the loaf pan and spread around evenly.
6. Take the apple slices and layer them across top of the batter in the loaf pan.
7. In a small mixing bowl combine all the crumble topping ingredients and mix together until a pasty meal forms.
8. Spoon or sprinkle clumps of crumble topping mixture all over the top of the sliced apples in the loaf pan.
9. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until toothpick in the centre comes out clean. Cool and enjoy.

Apple & Ginger Tarte Tatin with Crème Fraiche
Tarte Tatin is a traditional apple tart from the French kitchen. Usually served as a dessert, Tarte Tatin is very easy to prepare and a delicious cake. It is baked upside down in a pan and for this purpose, one usually lets sugar caramelize and then adds butter. On top of this layer of caramel in the pan, you add apple slices and then cover the apples with a layer of puff pastry. The Tarte Tatin is turned over after the puff pastry is baked golden brown and tastes best when still lukewarm. Alternatively, you can modify the classic Tarte Tatin and replace the apples with quinces or pears to only name a few.
Refined with Ginger and Creme Fraiche
Desserts are usually the most popular course and you can also add a little variety to a traditional recipe, such as Tarte Tatin. Apple has always been excellent when combined with some ginger. Carefully dosed, ginger adds a pleasant pungency and a slightly exotic aroma. The interplay of soft, butter caramel-soaked apples and ginger will also delight you. The only thing missing is a scoop of vanilla ice cream or, as in this recipe, a little crème fraiche. I can recommend both, the vanilla ice cream as well as some crème fraiche. This brings all the flavors together and you, as well as your guests, will be full of pleasure with this dessert.
HEALTHY French Apple Cake / Gluten & Dairy free / EASY RECIPE / low sugar

This Healthy Gluten free cake is also dairy free, and low sugar recipe.
A traditional French Apple Cake contains 20-40g of added sugar per SLICE! My recipe only has only 8g per slice and makes a total of 8 generous slices!
With this recipe you WILL achieve the incredible buttery taste and crispy textures of the French apple cake but without compromising your health!
Ingredients:
-4 medium granny smith apples
-1 Tbsp lemon juice
-3/4 C + 2 Tbsp all purpose gluten free four
-1/4 C coconut flour
-1/2 C sugar
-2 tsp baking powder (not baking soda)
-1/2 tsp salt
-1 large egg + 2 egg yolks
-1/2 C coconut oil
-1 C plant based milk
Notes:
*bake at 325F degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Be sure to do the toothpick test to ensure the cake is baked all the way through!
*Let cool completely before serving (1-2 hours)
