How To make Chinesey Chicken Wings
Ingredients

pound
chicken, wings
1
salt, to taste
1
pepper, to taste

tablespoon
honey
4
tablespoon
soy sauce
3
tablespoon
sugar, brown
1
tablespoon
garlic, clove, minced
1
teaspoon
lemon, juice
6
each
peppercorns
1
cup
water, hot
Directions:
Cut tips from chicken wings and reserve for another use. Cut remaining wing in half at joint. Rinse chicken and pat dry. Set in ungreased, shallow baking pan in single layer. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Mix together in a small jar the remaining ingredients; cover and shake well. Pour over wings. Cover pan with foil and bake for 2 hours at 325 degrees.
Remove foil, reduce heat to 300 degrees and continue baking another 30 minutes, basting wings with drippings every 10 minutes. When wings are brown, remove and drain on paper towels.
Serve hot or cold.

1.2kg (2.6lb) - Chicken Wingettes & Drummetes (Drums & Flats)
Marinade -
1 tsp (10ml) - Sesame Oil
2 Tbsp (40ml) - Shaoxing Cooking Wine (Can be substituted for Chicken stock or Broth)
2 Tbsp (40ml) - Light or Normal Soy Sauce
2 Tbsp (25g) - Brown Sugar
1 1/2 Tbsp (30g) - Oyster Sauce
1 1/2 Tbsp (30g) - Hoisin Sauce
1/4 Cup (60g) - Tomato Ketchup
1 Tbsp (20g) - Sambal Oelek or Sriracha Sauce
1/2 tsp (2g) - Chinese 5 Spice Powder
5 - Garlic Cloves, Minced or Paste
20g (0.7oz) - Ginger, Minced or Paste
1/2 - Lemon, Juiced
Garnishes -
1-2 - Spring Onions (Scallions), Thinly Sliced
1 - Birds Eye Chilli, Thinly Sliced (Optional)
1 Tbsp - Sesame Seeds
Coriander (Cilantro)

Lodge Pre-seasoned Cast Iron Skillet:

Ingredients:
9 whole wings
2 tsp salt
1 tbs all purpose flour
1 tbs corn starch
1 tbs soy sauce
1 tbs Shao Hsing (rice cooking wine)
2-3 drops sesame oil
1/2 tsp white pepper
2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp Accent (msg)
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 egg
1 tsp sugar
*Marinate for 2 hrs at room temp
Other:
After marinating, add 1/3 cup all=purpose flour (may need more or less)
Oil for frying

You will need the flowing!
12 chicken wings ( I prefer small or medium size )
1 tbsp chop garlic
1 tbsp chop ginger
1 egg
1 tbsp salt
1 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp chicken stock base or msg
1/2 tsp white pepper powder
I/2 tsp sesame oil
I/3 cup flour
1/3 cornstarch
3 tbsp water

Ingredients
7-10 whole chicken wings
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon white pepper
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon sugar
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon Shaoxing wine
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 egg (beaten)
1 tablespoon cornstarch
2 tablespoons flour
oil (for frying)
Instructions:
1.Combine all the ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Mix
everything until the wings are well-coated.
2.Let the wings marinate for 2 hours at room temperature or in the
refrigerator overnight for best results.
3.After marinating, if it looks like there is liquid in the wings, be
sure to mix them thoroughly again. The wings should be well
coated with a thin batter-like coating. If it still looks too watery,
add a bit more cornstarch and flour.
4.Fill a medium pot about 2/3 of the way up with oil, and heat it to
350 degrees.
5.Fry the wings in small batches for 7 minutes and remove to a
cooling rack or sheet pan lined with paper towels. After all of the
wings are fried, return them in batches to the oil and fry again for
4-7 minutes.
Place the wings on paper towels or a cooling rack, and serve with hot sauce or homemade mumbo sauce!

Who says healthy food can’t taste good? My wedding is just around the corner, and I am inspired to make healthy dishes that also taste amazing! My favorite restaurant in Vancouver is Phnom Penh, and their Vietnamese Inspired Chicken Wings is the best out there! Today, I share my healthy version of air-fried CRISPY chicken wings tossed in a sour and savory garlic sauce. You NEED to give these refreshing and crispy Vietnamese Inspired Chicken Wings a try; they are perfect for the summer!
Everyone’s definition of “HEALTHY” is different; for me, healthy means less sugar, more whole foods, and no deep-frying. You can adjust my recipes based on your dietary restrictions. For example, if you are cutting out sugar, I recommend using monk sugar, and if you are cutting out gluten, I recommend using rice flour. These Vietnamese Inspired Chicken Wings pair perfectly with a side of rice, salad, or steamed veggies. Over the next few weeks, I will be sharing alot of fun, delicious and healthy recipes to incorporate into your diet.
