This roasted salsa is the best combination of smoky, sweet, and spicy! #shorts #food #salsa #hot
Making salsa starts with using fresh ingredients. The primary ingredient in salsa is usually tomato, but other fresh ingredients can be added. For example, onion and jalapeno add flavor and kick, while cilantro adds an herbal touch. Lime and vinegar add extra flavor and tartness, while garlic adds a garlic flavor that complements the other flavors in the salsa. Chopped hot peppers add additional flavor and kick. Chopping all these ingredients requires time, but the end result is a flavorful salsa that packs a nutritional punch.

Smoky Roasted Salsa
Charred vegetables and canned tomatoes give this salsa a deep roasty flavor. While some homemade salsas come out watery, the techniques used in this recipe solve that problem. Use this salsa as a dip for chips, a topping for an OAMK ChipPile, or add it to OAMK Little Turkey Burritos. You can find the full recipe at my website:
To make this special salsa, start with drained whole canned tomatoes. Roast tomatillo, onion, jalapeño, and garlic with one dried guajillo chile to give the salsa a roasty flavor. Remove the seeds from the guajillo; taste the jalapeño and decide if the seeds should be removed from it too. To keep it chunky, chop everything and blend half. Add salt and cilantro to taste. Serve with chips or use it as an ingredient in another dish.
