I am not a Chef just a Home Cook. I make simple and easy recipes.
I grew up on garden food and southern home cooking. I will be sharing some recipes that my Momma made and other family recipes and things I made for my family when my kids were growing up. I also look for new things to make online or recipe books and will make it and give it a try.
Mounds Cake with Chocolate Ganache Icing Recipe:
Ingredients:
1 box chocolate moist cake mix
1 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
1 cup sweetened coconut flakes
Directions:
Make cake as directed on box. pour in a 9x13 inch presprayed and floured cake pan and bake at 350 degrees for 26 to 31 minutes. After done poke holes in cake with straw.
Mix sweetened condensed milk and coconut flakes together then spread over cake while cake is hot. Set aside and make chocolate ganache.
Chocolate Ganche:
Ingredients:
2/3 cup whipping (heavy) cream
6 oz chocolate chips (Semi Sweet. Milk Chocolate or Dark Chocolate)
Directions:
In 1-quart saucepan, heat whipping cream over low heat until hot but not boiling. Turn burner off.
Stir in chocolate until melted. It will become firmer the longer it cools.
Pour ganache carefully onto top center of cake; spread with large spatula so it flows evenly over top. Keep refrigerated. Ganache will harden in fridge.
