How To make Candied Cranberries
1 c Sugar
2 tb Water
1/2 c Cranberries
Cook 1/2 cup sugar and 2 tablespoons water in heavy small saucepan over low heat, stirring until sugar dissolves. Transfer to top of double boiler. Add cranberries. Cover berry mixture and place over simmering water. Cook 45 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from over water. Let cranberry mixture stand at room temperature overnight. Place remaining 1/2 cup sugar on plate. Drain cranberries well. Add t sugar and turn to coat. Let dry at least 30 minutes. (Can be prepared 3 days ahead. Cover and refrigerate.)
Makes about 1/2 cup

Sometimes you need to do a little extra when it comes to your garnishes. I love cranberries but we have to figure out a way to make them edible instead of being so super sour. I tried to make some candy cranberries which are great garnishes and great snacks. Not healthy snacks, but still tasty snacks.

Sugar Candied Cranberries (Christmas Recipe Idea)

This is actually my first time making these Sugar Candied Cranberries and I just can’t stop gushing over how pretty and festive they look. The steps are so simple there is no reason why you should not roll up your sleeves and make them.
The fresh cranberries are first soaked in a simple sugar syrup overnight to soften. The next day, drain and transfer them into a tray filled with fine sugar and roll away. Let them dry at room temperature for a couple of hours so that the sugar will stick to the berries and they are ready to be consumed!
You could use these sugar candied cranberries to decorate desserts, cakes, as garnish for cocktails or serve them as it is! Cranberries are high in acidity, even after they’ve been candied and coated with sugar, the tartness of the berries still comes through with each bite.
You could store remaining cranberries in an air-tight container and they keep well in the refrigerator for up to a week.
Ingredients:
300g (3 cups) fresh cranberries – wash and dry well
1 cup water
1 cup granulated sugar
½ cup fine grain sugar – for coating

Recipe: Candied Sugared Cranberries
Ingredients:
12 oz cranberries
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
Instructions:
In a saucepan, combine 1/2 cup of water and 1/2 cup of sugar. Bring to a boil, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Let it boil for about a minute.
Pour the sugar syrup over a 12 oz package of cranberries in a mixing bowl. Ensure the cranberries are well-coated with the syrup.
Spread the sugared cranberries on a baking sheet and let them dry for about 20 minutes.
After drying, transfer the cranberries to a bowl of sugar, tossing them generously to coat.
Use the candied cranberries to garnish dishes like pumpkin pie, cranberry ice cream, or even cranberry sauce.
