???? Ground Beef and Cabbage Soup Recipe
This is a great quick Ground Beef and Cabbage soup (Hamburger Cabbage Soup), that doesn't require a long slow cook.
Serves: 4 to 6
Ingredients:
1lb (500 g) lean ground beef
1 onion, diced
1 minced clove garlic
2 bay leaves
1/2 tsp (2 mL) dried thyme
1/2 tsp (2 mL) marjoram
1/2 tsp (2 mL) salt
1/4 tsp (1 mL) pepper
1 pinch ground cloves
3 cups (750 mL) chopped cabbage
2 carrots, thinly sliced
2 celery stalks, sliced
4 cups (1L) beef stock (chicken stock or vegetable stock)
2 cups (500 mL) water
1/4 cup (60 mL) tomato paste
2 Tbsp (30 mL) Vegemite
1 cup (250 mL) cooked rice
Method:
In large soup pot, brown beef over medium-high heat, breaking up with back of spoon.
Spoon off any excess oil.
Add onion, garlic, bay leaves, thyme, marjoram, salt, pepper and cloves, stirring often, until onion is softened, about 5 minutes.
Stir in cabbage, carrots and celery; cook, stirring, for 3 minutes.
Add stock, water, tomato paste, and Vegemite.
Bring to boil; reduce heat, cover and simmer until cabbage is tender, about 15 minutes.
Stir in rice and heat through, about 2 minutes.
Discard bay leaves.

-Makhan (Butter) 1 tbs
-Lehsan (Garlic) chopped 1 tbs
-Pyaz (Onion) sliced 1 small
-Band gobhi (Cabbage) shredded 2 Cups
-Gajar (Carrots) julienne ½ Cup
-Tamatar (Tomato) chopped 1 medium
-Yakhni (Stock) low sodium 3 Cups or as required
-Pink salt ½ tsp or to taste
-Haldi powder (Turmeric powder) 2 pinches
-Dried basil leaves ½ tsp
-Dried oregano 1 tsp
-Instant oats ¼ Cup
-Water ½ Cup or as required
-Kali mirch (Black pepper) crushed 1 tsp
-Lemon juice 1 tbs
-Hara dhania (Fresh coriander) chopped 2 tbs
-Hara pyaz (Green onion) leaves chopped
Directions:
-In a pot,add butter & let it melt.
-Add garlic & mix well for a minute.
-Add onion & mix well.
-Add cabbage,carrot,tomato,mix well & stir fry for 2-3 minutes.
-Add stock,mix well & bring it to boil.
-Add pink salt,turmeric powder,dried basil leaves,dried oregano and mix well,cover & cook on low flame for 8-10 minutes.
-In spice mixer,add instant oats and grind to make powder.
-In a bowl,add ground oats and water and mix well.
-Now add dissolved oats mixture,mix well and cook until soup is thick (approx. 2-3 minutes).
-Add black pepper crushed,lemon juice,fresh coriander & mix well.
-Garnish with lemon slice,green onion leaves & serve hot!

-Ab dissolve oats mixture dal ker ache tarhan mix karein aur soup garha ho janay tak paka lein (approx. 2-3 minutes).
-Kali mirch crushed,lemon juice aur hara dhania dal ker ache tarhan mix ker lein.
