How To make Hazelnut Praline Buttercream Master Chefs
1 c Milk
4 Egg yolks
1/3 c Sugar, plus
1 tb Sugar
1 c Butter, unsalted, at
-- room temperature 4 oz Hazelnut Praline Paste *
Place a medium bowl in a larger bowl of ice water. Set Aside. Bring milk to the boiling point in a heavy saucepan over medium heat. Meanwhile, beat egg yolks in a large mixer bowl until smooth. Gradually add 1/3 cup plus 1 tablespoon of sugar and continue berating until the mixture is pale yellow and forms a ribbon when beaters are lifted (about 7 minutes.) Gradually add boiling milk to yolk mixture, beating constantly to avoid the yolk curdling. Return the mixture to the saucepan, and cook over low heat - stirring with a wooden spoon, for 30 seconds. Immediately pour custard into the bowl set over ice water. Cool, stirring occasionally. Beat the butter and praline paste in a large bowl until smooth and creamy. Gradually beat in cooled custard. YUMMY Chocolate Praline Pie | Recipe From SCRATCH !
Chocolate is definitely a killer flavour, especially when associated with a praline paste. This week, give this chocolate praline pie a try and enjoy a chocolaty and nutty flavour with a crunchy crust.
This tart might take a bit of time, but it's actually very easy to make. Added bonus, I have included the praline paste recipe to make at home like a pro!
For the chocolate you'll be using, make sure you pick a brand that you enjoy the taste will be strongly present.
I have used bitter dark chocoate since it's my favourite.
Here are the ingredients :
*Crust
40 g almond powder - 1/3 cup
125 g butter - 2/3 cup
225 g flour - 2 3/4 cups
100 g sugar - 1/2 cup
1 egg
1 pinch salt
1 egg yolk
1 tbsp heavy cream
*Praline paste
135 g sugar - 2/3 cup
90 g hazelnuts - 1 1/3 cup
90 g almonds - 1 1/4 cup
*Chocolate ganache
250 g dark chocolate - 1 1/2 cups
280 g heavy cream - 1 1/2 cups
