Slow Cooker Split Pea Stew
SLOW COOKER SPLIT PEA STEW
If you love split pea soup then you will love this split pea stew. Watch how easy it is to make!
RECIPE:
INGREDIENTS:
1 lb. dry split peas
7 cups chicken broth
2 cups ham pieces or cubed ham
leftover ham bone (optional)
4 cups quartered baby red potatoes
1 white onion, diced
4 carrots, diced large
3 celery stalks, diced large
1 tsp. dried leaf thyme
¼ tsp. pepper
1 bay leaves
SLOW COOKER SIZE:
6-quart or larger
INSTRUCTIONS:
Add everything to the slow cooker, stir.
Cover and cook on LOW For 8-9 hours, without opening the lid during the cooking time.
When the cooking time is up remove and discard ham bone (if used) and bay leaves.
Stir the soup gently until the spit peas melt throughout the stew.
Serve and enjoy!

ingredients:
2 lbs chuck roast beef
3 lbs cowfoot/cowheel
1 cup split peas
1 lb sweet potatoes
1 lb eddos
1lb cassava
1 lb plantains
1 large carrot diced
1 medium onion diced
1 cup bell peppers
1 cup diced celery
1/4 cup minced garlic
1/2 cup Chopped scallions
1 /2 cup Chopped parsley
1 stalk Rosemary
few stalks thyme
2 tbsp chicken bouillon
2 tbsp mushroom seasoning
1 pack sazon or 1 tsp
1 tsp seasoned salt
1 tsp black pepper
1.7 liters water
dumplings
1 cup all purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
water
mix all ingredients to form a soft dough.
