Cream butter and Shortening thoroughly; add sugar, 1/2 cup at a time. Beat until light. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Add 2 cups flour alternately with milk containing flavoring. Add the last 1 cup flour containing salt and baking powder. Stir in 1 cup finely chopped walnuts. The batter will be thick and fluffy. Spoon into tube pan, which has been lightly greased and floured. Place the cake in cold oven on middle shelf. Turn oven to 350 degrees. Don't open door for 1 1/4 hours. Allow cake to cool in pan on wire rack

Ingredients:
1 Cup Refined Flour/Maida
1 Cup Oil/Butter
1 Cup Castor/Granulated Sugar
4 Eggs
1 tsp Baking Powder
1 tsp Vanilla Essence
1/2 Cup Chopped Walnuts.
Method:
Preheat oven at 180 degree Celsius. Beat oil and sugar till combined. Add eggs and vanilla essence and beat till light and fluffy. Add baking powder in Maida/Refined flour that has been sifted 2 to 3 times and mix it properly. Take out 1 tsp of Maida/Refined flour to coat the walnuts. Add Maida/Refined flour in 2 parts in the egg batter and fold it lightly till a smooth batter is formed. Add the walnuts(reserve few for garnishing). Pour the batter in a greased and lined baking tin and top it up with reserved walnuts. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degree Celsius for 40 to 45 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean. Let it cool for 15 minutes and then unmould. Serve warm and enjoy.

Recipe ingredients:
1 lb. all-purpose flour (approximately 3 1/3 cups)
1 lb. black walnuts (16 ounces)
1 lb. butter (2 cups or 4 sticks) I used salted butter
1 lb. sugar (2 1/4 cups)
9 eggs
1/2 cup white wine or white grape juice
(Original recipe calls for 8 ounces of the wine)
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Bake in 275 degree preheated oven for 2 1/2 hours
Glaze:
3 tablespoons melted butter
1/4 cup milk
2 tablespoons honey
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups powdered sugar
Drizzle on slightly warm cake

Orange & Raisins Pound Cake:
2 Cups + 3 Tsp Flour
4 Large eggs
Zest of one Orange
1 and 1/3 C Sugar
1 C Half & Half or Milk
1 C Vegetable oil(Canola oil)
2 tsp Vanilla extract
2 tsp Baking powder
1 pinch of Salt
1/4 C to 1/2 C Raisins
1 tsp flour to dust the Raisins
1/3 C Toast Walnuts (Opt.)
Grease loaf pan with nonstick spray.
Topping(Opt.):
Sliced Pistachios add it on top of Pound cake before baking.
Preheat the oven to 350° F
(or 180° C)
Place the cake pans in the center of the oven and bake for about 50 to 60 minutes.
(or toothpick test comes out clear)
ATT: Tsp is Tablespoon
tsp is Teaspoon

This is one of those cakes you'll love to make because all the ingredients are placed in the mixing bowl together and then mixed at the same time. For a busy day or a day you have a lot of errands to run, this is the perfect cake! The recipe is below. Enjoy!!!

Walnut Pound Cake Starting With a Cake Mix
1 box yellow cake mix
1 cup AP flour
1 cup sugar
1 cup sour cream ( room temperature)
1 cup oil
6 large or extra large eggs (room temperature)
1 to 1-1/2 cups finely chopped walnuts or pecans or nut of your choice
Preheat oven to 350. Grease very well a tube pan
Add all ingredients to a mixer, just dumping them in together. Beat at medium speed until thoroughly mixed, about 5 minutes. Pour into a well greased tube pan and bake 55 to 60 minutes or until a tester inserted in the middle of the cake comes out clean. Let cool 10 minutes in tube pan then turn out on a cooling rack until cool. Enjoy!!
