How To make Vanilla Wafers
1/2 c Butter; unsalted
1/2 c Crisco
2/3 c Sugar
1/2 ts Salt
2 ts Vanilla
2 Eggs
2 1/2 c Flour
In large bowl, use mixer to cream butter, crisco and sugar. Add salt and vanilla, mix well. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each. Stir in flour, mix well. Drop by heaping teaspoonful, 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten each. Bake in preheated 375~ oven for 8-10 minutes, or til edges are light brown. Remove from cookie sheet while still hot. -----

Another great recipe to help you be able to make your typical prepackaged boxed food at home. These homemade vanilla wafers are crunchy and delicious. Be sure you use them within a couple of days though because they dont have the preservatives in them that the manufactured wafers have.

1 stick (1/2 cup) unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup powdered sugar
1 large egg, at room temperature
4 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon milk

Delicious, Simple Vanilla Wafers
My homemade vanilla wafers are perfect for enjoying on their own or in banana pudding, can be made in less than 30 minutes with basic ingredients (and there's no chilling required)!
Recipe:
Ingredients
½ cup unsalted butter, softened (113g)
2/3 cup granulated sugar (133g)
1 large egg, room temperature preferred
4 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour (190g)
¾ teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 Tablespoon milk

Instructions:
00:00 Introduction
00:23 Preheat oven to 350F (175C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
00:27 Combine butter and sugar in a mixing bowl and use an electric mixer to beat together until creamy and well-combined.
00:44 Add egg and vanilla extract and stir on medium/low speed until completely combined.
00:55 In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt
01:11 Add about half of the flour mixture to the butter mixture and stir on low-speed to combine.
01:18 Add milk and stir again on low speed until combined.
01:22 Finally, add remaining flour mixture and stir until combined.
01:36 Scoop dough into two-teaspoon sized scoops and drop onto prepared baking sheet, spacing cookies at least 2” apart. Lightly flatten with damp fingertips.
02:03 Bake on 350F (175C) for 12-14 minutes or until cookies are light golden brown around the edges.
