Ready in under 30 minutes, this BOW-TIE PASTA WITH TUNA is about as easy and tasty as it gets!
I’ve always maintained that preparing delicious food need not be a complicated affair and this recipe for BOW-TIE PASTA WITH TUNA proves it. The ingredients are readily available and prepared in the simplest way, but produce such a fresh taste. It’s that combination of flavours that make this dish so darn good.
Here are a few tips on making it:
Although I’m using bow-tie pasta for this post, feel free to substitute penne, fusilli, shells or macaroni. Regardless of the shape, the sauce loves to stick to the pasta. Gluten-free pasta also works, so long as you don’t overcook it. In the video for this recipe, I suggest a cook time of 12 minutes - yours may cook faster, so check the instructions on the package.
What's not to love about a recipe that puts a readily available can of tuna to good use? I always have a can or two in the cupboard. Of course, you can grill some fresh tuna steaks, but it seems a bit extravagant, not to mention costly.
Chopping up the tomatoes, sun-dried tomatoes, onion and capers is easy to do, and they contribute greatly to the zippy flavour of this pasta dish. I've also swapped cherry tomatoes in for their larger cousins, celebrity, and both work great. I love the way these flavours work so well with the tuna and pasta.
My thought on the finishing touches goes to balance and freshness; the squeeze of lemon juice gets our tastebuds jumping while the chopped parsley adds a fresh finish. Feel free to add more lemon juice to boost the flavours.
