,,,, Good just got better,,,, just in time for the holidays, Christmas, New Years, Thanksgiving, your birthday,,,, a sleepover,,, no!, no need to wait for a special occasion,, just a cool afternoon or a craving for something sweet is reason enuff,,,, Oatmeal Cookies fruitcake style,, (Oh these are going to be good) just thinking about 'em sounds good don't it?,, well you are in luck, with this easy recipe you can be enjoying them in a matter of a few minutes,, well let's get this show on the road,,,,,,, start now by preheating the oven to 375 degrees, you are going to need , 2 cups of old fashioned oats (uncooked),, 1/3 cup vegetable shortening,, 1 cup light brown sugar (use what ever kind you have got, white will work ok),, 2 of them 7/16 oz non dairy creamers (remember this is a vegan recipe),, 1/4 cup of instant grits (in place of eggs),, a big pinch of salt,, 1/2 tsp baking soda,, 3/4 cup flour (any kind will do),, 1 tsp pure vanilla extract (use the good stuff if you have got it),, 3/4 cup fruit, cut into 1/8 inch size (this was called tropical fruit salad, red papaya, pineapple, white guava, yellow papaya), start with the shortening and add the ingredients, add one and stir, add another and stir, add, well you get the picture,, you got it mixed, now put 'em on the cookie sheet (oiled or not), now shove 'em into that preheated oven for 15 minutes,,, time goes by very slow when you are waiting on a fresh baked, homemade fruitcake style oatmeal cookie,,,,, bake and enjoy,, as an afterthought, an idea of sorts,, just thinking that if you left a note and a couple of these delicious cookies and a glass of cold milk on the table Christmas night, santa might leave you an extra gift,,,,,,, from the east coast of Arkansas, shopdogsam
