3-Ingredient Biscuits ????
It’s 3 Ingredient Buttermilk Biscuit time!! I have many memories of Grandma Barb making from-scratch buttermilk biscuits. They were always the last thing made for the meal, and she’d work quickly and effortlessly. Those biscuits were made and placed into the hot oven in under a minute flat and goodness they were heavenly, and still are. She’s good!

Cooking up Southern charm, one recipe at a time.
My name is Monique, and I started Divas Can Cook back in 2009 when I noticed a shortage of authentic Southern recipes like the kind I made with my grandma in her kitchen. I’m talking about that Elberton, Georgia cooking infused with North Carolina Appalachia flare. (Hey, I’m a Southern mountain girl; what can I say!) Authentic golden fried green tomatoes, hamburger steak, cornbread, biscuits and gravy, forgotten tea cakes, and fresh blueberry cobblers are the recipes that feel like home.
This channel is full of authentic Southern family recipes, recipes that I’ve developed and tweaked to perfection, and a few non-traditional ones sprinkled throughout for good luck. I hope that I will not only build your kitchen confidence, but become a trusted source for go-to Southern recipes for you and your family!

[5AM IDEAL MORNING ROUTINE | slow and relaxing morning]
Can you believe it’s already almost May?
I recently stumbled upon my (very motivated) journal entry from the 1st of January. Alongside the myriads of resolutions I have long forgotten about, I found notes on my ideal morning routine. This routine, together with a pairing night time routine, was supposed to help me achieve my resolutions haha. So today I’d like to try and follow it (for once). Luckily, it’a not too different from my usual routine (minus the fact I wouldn’t do all of them in one morning) and I actually really enjoyed it and hope I’ll be able to incorporate some of these habits in my daily routine more consistently.
Did you write down any goals for the new year? How have they progressed so far?
I hope you will enjoy these little fragments of my mundane life~

Sunrise Vegan Scones.
My dear friend (& soul sis) taught me the secrets of Vegan Scones at the crack of dawn.
Her kitchen is truly a temple and has been a place of deep conversations, unpacking energies and aromas that feel like home. I love this kitchen.
And so this morning I decided to step in for a spell & a cooking lesson.
Food is our connection to Earth, it is medicine. And it is joy. Who can resist a delicious banana cinnamon ginger scone with full flavors & fresh almond milk first thing in the morning?
I love learning new ways to combine ingredients and use rare kitchen tools.
It offered me an out of my early brain dump. Got me up to meet the Sun, the cool breeze and the brisk walk.
It Offered me a few laughs to start the day, and ….offered me valuable fellowship.
To top it off: I worked for my breakfast this morning. ☀️
Never negate the power of the kitchen and having a hand in making what goes into your Bodies. I cannot emphasize that part enough. Take agency with your body, and in your ingredients.
One thing I believe - is our relationship to food often reflects our relationship to our bodies. And sometimes that needs healed. So I also believe the energy of Kitchen can offer that.
You don’t have to be a professional chef, but you can retain the value of what the kitchen offers esp when your people are participating with you.
So: How was your breakfast?
