HOMEMADE PEACH PIE MADE EASY
This homemade lattice weave peach pie recipe is so easy and quick anybody can do it. I made it in about an hour. Golden and flaky lattice weave crust filled with a delicious peach pie filling kissed with a hint of nutmeg, cinnamon and sugar. Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Shopping List:
1 box of Pillsbury Pie Crust (package or 2)
2, 21 ounce cans of Duncan Hines Comstock Peach pie filling
1 egg
Splash of milk
Sprinkle of white sugar
Sprinkle of nutmeg
Sprinkle of cinnamon
1 tbls. real butter cut up into small chunks
Vaniller ice cream
Cool Whip
Directions:
Pre-heat your oven to 375 degrees.
Remove the 2 pie crusts from the packaging and roll out to come to room temperature.
Place the bottom pie crust into a pie pan, preferably glass, and press into shape around the pan. Make sure the edges overlap the top edge.
Next, pour the pie filling into the pan and spread around evenly.
Then roll out the top pie crust and using a pizza cutter cut out 1 inch strips across the entire crust.
To start the lattice weave pattern, lay 5 strips across the top of the pie about 1 inch apart. Fold back every other strip then place another strip across the center then fold back the strips previously folded back. Then fold back every other strip starting on the outside then place another strip next to the center strip. Fold back the folded strips. Continue this process to complete the lattice pattern. First, completing half of the pie then the other half. This will make more sense by watching the video.
Next, add a splash of milk to a beaten egg and brush it on to the top of the pie. Make sure to get the outer edges as well.
Sprinkle white sugar and cinnamon about the top of the pie.
Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour or until golden brown and bubbly.
NOTE: I’ve always found it helpful to rotate the pie halfway through baking to promote even browning.
Allow the pie to cool 3-4 hours before serving. Peach pie can be kept fresh loosely covered at room temperature for 2 days and the ice box for 4-5 days.
Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and Cool Whip topping.
Enjoy!!!
