Philly Cheese Steak Spring Rolls
Chef Joe loves making spring rolls! These Philly Cheese Steak Spring Rolls are one of his signature recipes! We'll be featuring a few different recipes over the summer, so stay tuned!
Ingredients:
⚡️ 4 Tbsp. Olive Oil
⚡️ 1/3 c. Diced Onion
⚡️ 1/3 c. Diced Bell Pepper
⚡️ 1 1/2 lb. Philly Steak
⚡️ 1/2 lb. American Cheese
⚡️ 1 tsp. Black Pepper
⚡️ 8 - 9.5” Spring Roll Wrappers
⚡️ 1 1/2 qt. Vegetable Oil
Instructions:
1️⃣ Heat olive oil in a large skillet on medium heat.
2️⃣ Add onions and bell peppers and cook until soft (about 5 minutes).
3️⃣ Remove onions and peppers from the pan and add the Philly steak, stirring to shred meat as it cooks.
4️⃣ Remove beef and drain liquid. Return beef, onions and peppers to skillet on stove.
5️⃣ Reduce heat to medium/low and add cheese. Allow cheese to melt (2-3 minutes), and stir to combine.
6️⃣ Season with black pepper to taste and set aside to cool.
7️⃣ Once cooled, form beef mixture into 8 equal sized logs.
8️⃣ Place 1 wrapper on work surface, keeping the others covered with a damp cloth. Brush entire surface of wrapper with water, and then place 1 beef log at the corner of the wrapper.
9️⃣ Roll the wrapper, corner to corner, tucking the sides (like a burrito!). Repeat for remaining wrappers and filling.
???? Pour vegetable oil into a medium heavy pan to a depth of 2”. Heat until temperature reaches 350 F on a candy thermometer. Fry spring rolls in 2 batches, turning over halfway through, until golden brown (about 4 minutes). Remove to paper towels to drain.
