I love to cook, but sometimes I just don't have the time or the energy to do much. Stews tend to be a great answer to this problem because they don't require much active cooking. But usually they take hours on the stove and aren't the instant solution.
Today's video recipe is a hearty bean and pasta stew. Once you get all the ingredients cut and measured, just throw them in a pot, let everything simmer, sit back and you'll be eating in 15 minutes. Since most of the ingredients are primarily pantry items, you should be able to skip a trip to the supermarket.

Steak and Ale Chowder
Ingredients:
3 strips bacon
1lb steak, cubed and seasoned with salt and pepper
Cook bacon then remove and brown steak chunks. Set meat aside. Add to pan:
1 tbsp crushed garlic
1diced onion
1diced carrot
2 stalks celery sliced fine
1small yellow bell pepper chopped fine
2 cups sliced mushrooms (about 6 oz)
1tsp thyme
Saute until soft.
In a soup pot cook 2 potatoes sliced thinly in 5 cups beef broth for about 5 minutes or just until potatoes are tender. Add the steak bones too!
Add vegetables to the broth and potatoes. Add 12 oz ale or lager. Let simmer for about 5 min. Then add meat and simmer a few more minutes. Just before serving add 2 cups cheddar or jack cheese and about a cup of cream. Thicken with cornstarch if desired.
