How To make Spicy Pumpkin Butter
1/4 c Dark brown sugar, packed
2 tb Sugar
1/4 c Water
1/2 ts Allspice
1/4 ts Ginger
1/4 ts Cloves
1/4 ts Nutmeg
1/2 ts Cinnamon
1 1/2 c Pumpkin
trY USING THIS ADDED TO WHIPPED CREAM TO GARNISH PUMPKIN PIE Combine the two sugars, water, allspice, ginger, cloves, nutmeg and cinnamon in a 4-cup glass measure. MW on HIGH 3 minutes; stir. Add pumpkin and MW on HIGH 5 minutes. Let cool and refrigerate. Keeps several weeks in refrigerator or can be frozen. YIELD: 2 cups NOTE: Use this as you would apple butter.

Ingredients
30 oz Pure Pumpkin (See Note 1)
2/3 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup maple syrup
1/3 cup apple juice
1 tbsp lemon juice
2 tsp pumpkin spice
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground clove
1/8 tsp salt
Instructions
In a large Dutch oven or deep sided skillet combine the pumpkin puree, brown sugar, maple syrup, apple and lemon juices and spices (See Note 2).
Bring to a boil and reduce heat to simmer, stirring often, for 30 minutes. This will sputter and reduce to a thick spread.
Allow to cool, season to taste if needed. Perfect for using in baking recipes, spread on toast and muffins. Store in an airtight container refrigerated, for up to 2 months. This makes 4 cups total. If canning, use proper canning instructions (See Note 3).
Notes
1. I use two 15 ounce cans of LIBBY'S 100% Pure Pumpkin puree
2. I use a large Dutch oven or deep sided skillet instead of a saucepan because this will sputter as it simmers and helps to contain any splatter drops as it cooks.

Crockpot PUMPKIN Butter | Pressure Canning
Today we're using the leftover pumpkins, from what we canned the other day - and we're making PUMPKIN BUTTER! In the end, I'm going to can mine. To each their own. This is not approved to can, but I feel ok with it based on the recipe I used. If you're not comfortable, please just freeze it ♥ I'm super happy with how this turned out. Once it cooked down, the flavors really came to life! Todd's taste test was Tastes like eating pumpkin pie without the crust ????
