How To make Spice Beer Cake
3 c Flour 2 c Brown sugar, packed
2 ts Baking soda 2 Eggs, beaten
1/2 ts Salt 1 c Shortening
1 ts Cinnamon 1 c Raisins or chopped dates
1/2 ts Allspice 1 c Chopped pecans/walnuts
1/2 ts Cloves 2 c Beer
Sift together dry ingredients. Cream together shortening and sugar;add eggs. Mix fruit and nuts with 2 tablespoons of the flour mixture. Add flour mixture alternately with beer. Stir in fruit and nuts. Pour into a greased and floured 10-in tube pan and bake at 350F for 1 hour, or until cake tests done. Or pour into a greased and floured 9x13 in pan and bake at 350 for 45 minutes to 1 hour or until cake tests done. -----

1lb Chopped ginger
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
2 cinnamon sticks
2 star anise
8 cloves
1/2 nutmeg
orange peel
the juice of 2 lemons/3 tbsp
1 tsp vanilla extract
6 cups water
keep in mind water will be added to blend the ginger also about 2 - 3 cups
sponge cake
2 cups all purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup butter/2 sticks
1/2 tsp salt
4 eggs
1 cup milk
2 tsp baking powder
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp lemon zest

French Pressed Beer Spicy Mexican Cake Stout Recipe - Ep. #225
My best recipe so far is (for 12 oz.):
Your favorite imperial stout (Founders Imperial, Ten Fidy, Thirsty Dog Siberian Night)
1/4 tsp cinnamon (adjusted from recipe in the video)
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2 tbs ground coffee
1 tbs cacao nib (or chopped dark chocolate)
1/3-2/3 fresh habanero (medium sized, chopped, add more depending on spice of pepper)
Be sure to taste 1-2 hours in and add ingredients to your tasting before you press.
