Using Corn Flakes, Rice Krispies AND Special K cereal, this isn’t your grandma’s Special K Bar (although hers is probably still the best). With filigree imprinted in the chocolate and some green frosting these are a standout dessert!
Recipe:
2 C Special K 2 C Corn Flakes 2 C Rice Krispies 16 oz crunchy peanut butter 1 C sugar 1 C corn syrup 1 C milk chocolate chips 1 C butterscotch chips 1 C semisweet chips
Line a 8×11 baking pan with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, mix together all 3 cereals. Set aside.
In a small saucepan, bring the sugar and corn syrup to a simmer. You're looking for bubbles around the edges, not a full boil.
Remove from heat and quickly add in the peanut butter. Mix until fully incorporated.
Place the pot back onto the burner. While mixing continuously, bring the mix back to a simmer.
Pour the hot mix over the cereal. Mix well so all pieces are coated.
Pour into your lined baking pan. Use the bottom of a measuring cup to compact and smooth your base.
In a medium sized bowl, melt your chocolate. Careful only to heat in 30 second intervals so you don't burn it.
Once melted, pour over your base.
Let your chocolate set for about 10 minutes. Then with a toothpick or a chopstick, swirl your chocolate around to give it some design. There's no rhyme or reason here, just make it pretty however you like.
Place your pan in the fridge and let fully set before cutting.
Cut into triangles and decorate with green frosting if desired.
