Finally showing you my sourdough discard strawberry turnovers!
This strawberry turnover is an absolute treat! Plus, you can use some of your sourdough discard… and let me tell you, it adds such a nice flavour. Now, I use “young” discard - nothing older than a week in the fridge, but you can use whatever discard you have on hand!
*** reminder that you may not need to use all of the water/discard mixture! Just enough to moisten the dough enough to have it stick together! To be safe, add a little bit at a time! ***
Here are the recipe specs:
250g flour
250g butter
75g water
75g starter
1tsp salt
1/4 tsp apple cider vinegar
Filling
450g strawberries
70g sugar
Juice of half a lemon
15g cornstarch
Strawberry sauce
70g reserved strawberry juice from filling
60g powdered sugar
2tbsp milk
Enjoy!
