How To make Short Cut Chili Con Carne
1 pound Lean ground beef
1 Small onion
chopped
1 teaspoon Salt
1 Bay leaf
1 teaspoon (2) chili powder
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2 cans (8oz) tomato sauce
2 cans (16oz) kidney beans :
drained
In skillet or slow-cooking pot with browning unit, break up beef with fork and cook until lightly browned. Pour off excess fat. In slow-cooking pot, combine meat with onion, salt, chili powder, bay leaf, Worcestershire sauce, tomato sauce, and kidney beans.
Cover and cook on high for 2 to 3 hours. Remove bay leaf. Makes 6 to 7 servings.

2 to 2.5 lbs (907 g to 1.13 kg) beef chuck roast
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
3 Tbsp (45 ml) cooking oil
1/2 small onion (diced)
5 cloves garlic (minced)
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp ground cumin
4 1/2 to 5 cups (1.06 to 1.18 L) low sodium beef broth
5 guajillo chiles (or New Mexico chiles)

500g Beef Mince (Ground Beef)
1 Large Brown Onion (chopped)
1 Clove of Garlic (crushed)
1 Long Red Chilli (chopped, seeds removed)
700g Jar of Tomato Passata sauce (pureed tomatoes)
2 x 400g Cans of Red Kidney Beans (drained and rinsed)
1 Teaspoon of Ground Chilli Powder
Olive Oil
Salt and Pepper
Serve with Rice, Pasta, Vegetables or on it's own!
Preparation Time: About 10 minutes
Cooking Time: About 20 minutes
SERVES 4 - 6

This hearty and authentic beef chili recipe is made with a mouth-watering chili sauce cooked low and slow, with many wonderful seasonings. Make it with or without beans. You can also make it with tomatoes, if desired. It’s very easy to customize to your own preferred spice level.

THINGS YOU’LL NEED:
4 guajillo peppers
4 ancho peppers
Salt to taste
3.5-4 pound chuck roast cut into ¾-1 inch cubes
2 tablespoons paprika
1 tablespoon Mexican oregano
1 tablespoon black pepper
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon ground coriander
Salt to taste
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 jalapeno peppers chopped
1 large onion chopped
10 cloves garlic chopped
2-4 cups beef stock
OPTIONAL ADDITIONS Worcestershire sauce, tomato sauce, chili or kidney beans, extra spicy chili powders
FOR SERVING Crema or sour cream, fresh chopped herbs, spicy chili flakes or chopped chiles, shredded cheese – all your favorite chili fixins. I served mine with spicy chili flakes and fresh chopped cilantro.
