INGREDIENTS
- 2 cup (300 g) all-purpose flour
- 1 Tbsp (15 g) sugar
- 1 Tbsp (9 g) baking powder
- ½ tsp (3 g) baking soda
- ¾ tsp (4 g) salt
- 1 ¼ cup (310 mL) buttermilk
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup (60 mL) vegetable oil
DIRECTIONS
1. Preheat the oven to 400 F and line 2 baking trays with parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, sift the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
3. In a separate bowl, whisk the buttermilk, egg and oil together. Add this to the flour mixture and stir just until blended.
4. Use an ice cream scoop or 2 tablespoons to drop batter (about ¼ cup each) onto the prepared baking trays, leaving 2-inches between them. Bake the biscuits for about 15 minutes until they are a light golden brown and lift away from the parchment easily.
5. Serve the biscuits warm from the oven, or re-heated at 300 for 10 minutes. The biscuits are best enjoyed the day they are baked.

The BEST Scone Recipe
This delicious, classic scone recipe can be made with one bowl and two hands in just a few minutes. The have a crisp outer layer, are soft and tender inside, and go perfectly with clotted cream and jam! If you can clear up the pronunciation in the comments I would be so appreciative!
Full Recipe:
Scones are traditionally served with tea and are best when slathered in clotted cream and touched with jam. Unsurprisingly, it’s important to not overwork the dough and never roll it too thin.
Like a biscuit they should fluff up and rise during baking and to do that they need to start off thick. I did not adorn my scones/biscuits with dried fruit or nuts but if you are so inclined just mix them in at the very end.

Try out this recipe for your tea snacks at home or for events. Everyone will be begging for more. Traditional scones are a bit thicker but I find the slightly thin ones to be more crunchy and better tasting.

Ingredients
500g self rising flour (4 cups)
100g sugar(1/2 cup)
125g margarine/ butter
2 eggs
185ml milk (3/4 cup)
NB.
-Ensure that the milk, eggs and butter are cold for better results.
-If you have all-purpose flour add 1 tspn baking powder, for the milk you can use half water, half milk but it will not be as rich.
Method
1. Add vanilla extract to the eggs then mix the eggs with milk and stir well. (Preserve 2 Tbspn of this mixture)
2. Add sugar to the flour (also baking powder if you don’t have self rising flour)
3. Add the butter / margarine to the flour and incorporate to form a crumbly texture
4. Pour the wet to the dry ingredients
5. Slightly fold them until they are incorporated , don’t overmix
6. Transfer the mixture to a floured working surface and roll to atleast 1/2 inch thickness (you can do more but not less)
7. Divide the dough for baking using a glass, cookie cutter or even a knife, by cutting them in squares
8. Place them on a floured or greased baking sheet
9. Apply the egg wash preserved in step 1
10. Bake @375F for 20-30min or until golden brown
