Recipe by: Midwest Living, February 1995 Preheat oven to 350 degrees; grease a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan. In a medium mixing bowl, beat the butter with an electric mixer for 30 seconds. Add the sugars; beat until thoroughly combined. Add the egg, 1/3 cup peanut butter, baking soda, vanilla extract and salt. Beat until thoroughly combined. Stir in the flour and oats. Spread in the prepared pan. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes, or until the edges are light brown. Sprinkle with the chocolate pieces and let stand for 5 minutes to soften. Meanwhile, stir together the powdered sugar, 1/4 cup peanut butter and enough of the milk, a tablespoon at a time, to drizzle. Spread the chocolate evenly over the top and then drizzle with the peanut butter mixture. Cool in the pan on a wire rack. Cut into bars. Penny Halsey -----

PEANUT BUTTER FINGERS!!!!!
------------------------
Ingredients:
Crust-
2 sticks of butter
2/3 cups of white sugar
1 and 1/3 cup of packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2/3 lbs. of peanut butter
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
2 cups flour
2 and 2/3 cups oatmeal
Peanut butter for the PB layer
Fudge-
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup cocoa powder
3/4 cup of butter
5 tbsp of milk (thicker the better)
1 pound powdered sugar.
Directions:
Heat oven to 325 degrees
Mix butter, sugars, eggs, PB, soda, salt and vanilla.
Stir in flour and oatmeal.
Pat evenly into greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 325 for exactly 17 minutes.
Let it cool completely or the layer of PB will melt and your PB fingers will be really greasy!
When it's cooled, add a layer of PB.
Fudge time!
Add all ingredients to sauce pan and cook on high for 2 minutes while stirring constantly. After 2 minutes is up add one pound of powdered sugar. Keep stirring and remove from heat once all the powdered sugar is mixed in. Pour over PB layer and let it set.
The PB fingers can be eaten anytime but are best served after they have sat for an hour or two.
Be sure to share with a neighbor and DON'T EAT THE WHOLE PAN!
