Meringue pop roses - Easy meringue cookie pops recipe/tutorial
For todays recipe we are making an easy French meringue which we will pipe into roses, creating these easy and adorable meringue pop roses which are the perfect easy treat for any holiday! I made these meringue pops pink for Valentines day, but you could do pastels for Easter meringue pops, orange for Halloween pops and red and green for Christmas! These easy meringue pops have a wonderful crisp outer shell with a bit of a chewy center, my favourite type of meringue! I like to serve these meringue pops in shot glasses filled with seasonal sprinkles for a fun presentation! Follow along with our easy step by step recipe and tutorial and learn how to make these easy rose shaped meringue pops!
How to make easy meringue pops (Step by step):
French meringue Ingredients:
3 large room temperature egg whites (approx: 90-120g)
1/8 teaspoon cream of tartar (approx 0.66g)
2/3 cup granulated white sugar (134g)
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (clear if possible) (1.2g)
2 tablespoons sprinkles (optional) (20-25g)
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 165F/75C. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the balloon whisk attachment beat the egg whites on medium speed for about a minute, or until they are nice and foamy. Add cream of tartar and continue beating for another minute or until well incorporated. Begin adding the sugar 1 tablespoon at a time, mixing well after each addition. The process of adding and mixing in the sugar will take around 5-7 minutes. Once all of the sugar has been added, scrape down the sides of the bowl, add the extract and continue mixing on medium speed for another minute or until all of the sugar is dissolved and you have a nice smooth glossy French meringue with a nice stiff peak.
Colour your French meringue using gel colours. I am using Wilton rose petal pink and Wilton creamy peach. Transfer your meringue into a piping bag fitted with your desired tip. I'm using a 2d closed star tip. Use a small amount of meringue to attach your parchment to you baking sheet. To pipe your meringue begin applying pressure and pipe in a spiral motion until its your desired size. Release pressure and continue that spiral motion as you pull away. My meringue pops are about 3 inches in diameter but you could make them larger if you could like. Top with sprinkle for a nice finishing touch to these meringue roses. Insert a 4 stick (or 6 inch for large meringue pops) 1/2 to 1 deep and bake for 90-120 minutes depending on the size of your meringue cookies. Allow these to sit in the oven for an additional 30 minutes after you turn it off to avoid the sudden change in temperature that can cause these meringue pop roses to crack!
Fill shot glasses with heart (or other Valentine's day themed) sprinkles and place your finished meringue pop roses for a beautiful way to serve these easy Valentine's day treats! This recipe made 24 three inch meringue pops. These can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for 1-2 weeks.

How to Make Cake Pops | Easy Homemade Cake Pop Recipe
You can find and print the cake pops recipe here on my website:
In this episode of In the Kitchen with Matt, I will show you how to make cake pops. This homemade cake pop recipe is very easy to make, using very few ingredients. There is something cool about a ball of cake covered in chocolate on top of a lollipop stick. Here is a bit of history about the cake pop. Angie Dudley aka Bakerella, came up with the cake pop in 2008 in Georgia, United States. And so many people are glad she did. Now 11 years later, they can be found at restaurants, supermarkets, and of course there are plenty of at home bakers making these delightful treats. Instead of giving a bouquet of flowers, maybe give a bouquet of cake pops! Do you like Starbucks cake pops? Then you have got to make these! They are really easy to make, if I can do it, you can do it, let's get started!
