Hello and welcome to In the Kitchen with Matt, I am your host Matt Taylor. Today I have a short little episode for you. I am going to show you how to make Halloween shaped peanut butter cups. What I did is I got this little candy mold here, it was like a dollar, and it was really cheap. And the molds have pumpkins and ghosts, so we are going to make pumpkin and ghosts peanut butter cups. Let’s get started. For the ingredients, we have 1-quarter cup of powdered sugar, plus one tablespoon, we have 1-quarter cup of peanut butter, 2 teaspoons of softened or melted butter, 1 eighth teaspoon of salt, and we have one candy bar, and about a quarter cup of chocolate chips. I am using milk chocolate. First what we are going to do is we are going to combine the peanut butter, our sugar, our butter and our salt. So first I am going to go ahead and add our butter here, then our salt. Go ahead and mix this up a little. Ok now let’s add our powdered sugar. Ok we keep mixing until it looks, about like that. Now what we want to do is we want to melt our chocolate, I am going to melt it in the microwave, and I am going to melt it bursts of 30 seconds on hi, 30 seconds, them I am going to stir, 30 seconds stir, the final 30 seconds, I am going to do in bursts of 10 until it is nice and melted. You can also use the double-boiler method if you like. Okay, once our chocolate is melted, what we want to do is we want to fill in these molds, a little less then half way, and then what we will do is we will chill it, and then we will take it out and put some peanut butter mixture on top, and then fill it the rest of the way. So first we want to do our first layer of chocolate, so we will take a little spoon, we will just put some chocolate in there, about like that much. And you can do this method with any mold you want. Okay then what we want to do we want to give it a nice shake, and we want to flatten it all out. Okay then we are going to chill this in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes. All right to that step. Okay these have chilled in the refrigerator, now what we are going to do is we are going to add some peanut butter mixture, make sure your hands are clean. You are going to take a little bit of peanut butter mixture, and you are going to just pinch it like that, and if it is a little bit too sticky then go ahead and add some more powdered sugar. And then you are just going to lay it right there on top. And then what you will do is come in here with your chocolate and fill it the rest of the way up. Just like that, and we will shake it out a little bit. Just like that, and then go ahead and do that with the rest of them. And then once you have them all filled up, put them in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes to let it set completely. Okay once they have completely chilled now we want to pop them out of the mold. Now I recommend if you can get a silicone mold, because it will be a lot easier to pop out. This is a plastic mold, so these will come out a little more difficultly, but I am just going to go ahead and give this a good push, and there you go. And here is another one. And if it is sticking a little bit, then just leave it in the fridge a little bit longer. Okay our Halloween Shaped Peanut buttercups are done. These little guys are amazing. We got some ghosts, we got some pumpkins, you can use whatever kind of mold you want, super easy to make, super cheap, fun to do with the kids, Happy Halloween. I am Matt Taylor, this has been another episode of In the Kitchen with Matt, thank you for watching, don’t forget to subscribe. Time for me to dive into one of these.
