How to make Pav Bhaji | Bombay Style Pav Bhaji | Mumbai Street Food | Cooking made simple | Ritu
Pav bhaji is one of the most popular Mumbai street food that consists of a spicy mix vegetables mash and soft buns. This unique dish could be served as a snack or a meal. It is loved by kids and adults alike.
Instead of going to the restaurant or buying pav bhaji from street vendors, you can simply make your own pav bhaji that is healthier. Hope you like my video and try making this delicious dish at home.
Detailed Recipe:
Ingredients:
1 Cup Cauliflower
3 Big Potatoes boiled and mashed
1 Green capsicum finely chopped
2 Onions Finely Chopped
1 Carrot chopped in cubes
4 Tomatoes, grind in mixer
1/2 cup green mutter (Green Peas)
1 cup boiled white mutter (White Peas)
Fresh coriander for garnishing
1 lemon
2 Tsp Coriander powder
1/2 Tsp Turmeric powder
1 1/2 Tsp chilli powder
Salt to Taste
3-4 Tbsp Everest Pav Bhaji masala
4 Tbsp Amul Butter
4 cups of hot water
Directions:
Heat butter, Saute onions for a while, when turn translucent, add finely chop capsicum, once they are sautéed a bit, add the boiled n mashed veggies (carrot, cauliflower n green peas) n saute all nicely once this is done add the spices to it n then add the tomato purée and cover it with a lid. Once the mixture has dried a bit open the lid n sauté it nicely n then add the mashed potato n white mutter to it. Let it cook for 15 mins, then add the left over water in which you boiled the vegetables n slowly add more water to it and add salt to the mixture now n keep continue cooking for another 10/15minutes. Add some butter n put some chilli power n Pav Bhaji masala on top to make it more spicy. This is optional. Turn off the heat and add butter.
To serve, slit the pav in center half way. On a tawa or pan, heat 1 tsp Amul butter, add a pinch of chilli powder and place the slit side down and toast the pav for about half a minute on both sides
Serve hot with more butter, chopped onion and lemon wedge as garnish.
